cotto did not quit

He did take the easy way out.He had nothing left, instead of just standing there waiting to be punished he decided to protect himself. You might see that as quitting but he knew there was nothing else he could do to win and taking anymore damage was pointless. In my opinion quitting is when you can still fight but want the easy way out.Comment

Hahaha, one of the sports bizzarre episodes. I wonder why there was no trilogy once he rose from the ashes of No Maas? That was illy of him though, as SRL fought his fight in the first one and took the loss, Duran should have done the same.
I don't think there was plaster gloves, I think Cotto always had it in him to quit. He got found out and worn down with punches, not plaster. Cotto quit all the same, even though his was more warranted. I agree. There is no shame in it, he saved his own neck. I think Margo got his ass beat down, and now both of them are on comeback trail they shoudl have a rematch. On a side note, a prime Duran would KO them both!Comment

The people who have labeled him a "quitter" dont know what the **** they are talking about, plain and simple. He was beaten down horribly, and had absolutely nothing left. Roberto Duran saying No Mas was quitting, what happened to Cotto was a beating.Comment

I see what you're saying with your definition of quitting. In the borader sense he did quit, but in terms of throwing in towel without even putting up a fight he certainly did not!
No it isn't. You can tell he was worn down and boxed too much on his back foot. That's why he lost. i don't think the plaster was a reason but I see what you mean in giving Migeul the benefit of the doubt. I reckon if they did it in that fight, they would have been caught then tooComment

As far as there being plaster in the gloves, I cant prove it in a court of law, but I also couldnt "prove" the theory of evolution. It doesnt mean that the truth on the subject isnt obvious, and the evidence isnt there.I see what you're saying with your definition of quitting. In the borader sense he did quit, but in terms of throwing in towel without even putting up a fight he certainly did not!

As for this plaster not effecting the fight, thats just crazy, man. I dont know how many body shots you have taken in your life, but believe, you, me when I say that a fighter like Margarito with loaded gloves would be a nightmare for anybody who gets hit.Comment
