Correction. Abraham was lucky that he was in his home country and had a ignorant ref on his side or he would have lost to Miranda.
That said no one is shot. This is Edison Miranda. One dimensional slugger. Ward was always going to beat him with ease. I only saw the last four rounds, but from what I can tell he had no problems. He's not a puncher, but he can keep guys honest. Similar to Dirrell.Comment

Styles. Ward dominated Miranda. Abraham and Pavlik traded with him. Aside from the headbutt, ward came nowhere near getting hurt. I like the kid and I am on his bandwagon. Class act. I look forward to his future fights.Comment

It was the best won of Ward's career thus far no doubt, but ehh it was done in a merely satisfactory fashion. He held and ran way too much, and proved that his ko ratio is a product of the opposition he was fighting. He is good, but nothing special.Comment

I've been waiting for Ward to step up for a long time and the fight tonight made me a fan. He's got the potential to be really, really good. I'm a little surprised by the overall reaction that I'm seeing in this thread. I saw a guy doing a little bit of everything and taking control of the fight in just about every aspect. I thought the fight was going to be much closer than this one. Miranda isn't shot (lots of people were picking him to win), Ward just made him look rather foolish and exploited the fact that Miranda is so one dimensional. A great victory and hopefully the start of many enjoyable fights to come.Comment

I was impressed by Ward tonight. Was never really checking for him (seemed kinda bland before), but he put on a demo, switching stances, fighting close on the inside, ring generalship, etc. The first couple of rounds were pretty entertaining.
Also, this has nothing to do with boxing, but Oakland... old school Too $hort all day every day.Comment
