Was Hatton a British Hype Job?

I mean if he was, Manny just exposed that fool.

For goodness sake, even Floyd Gayweather was able to stop him.

Juan "Loser" Lazcano almost dropped that fool.

Was Ricky just a British Hype Job?

I always believed that. And i'm a pbf fan who knows he picked that cherry without a doubt. I was screaming this for years! He got to this stage due to hype alone. Careful matchmaking as always though.

why the harsh words on hatton mi amigo?

yeah i think the british media hyped him more than he deserves...

specially his "transformation" under floyd "joke coach" mayweather sr...

        BUT...

he was still the lineal champ @ 140 for 5 years no matter how u slice it...

it took the 2 greatest fighters in this era to "expose" him...

He was alright...not great...never pound for pound...boring style...couldn't box well...warren fighter for most of his career...

So yeah, bit of a hype job...not necessarily "british" hype job...because GDP created a hell of a lot of hype for him...

Still though..he went a hell of a long time undefeated and did beat tszyu...even though he had had a long layoff and was at the end of his career it is still a good victory...

          but yeah...over hyped...

The tattoo on his back looks to me like it says pacman...ha ha

Yes he was, He fought Tsyzu and basically wrestled him into submission and since then he had brought up tsyzu's name at every opportunity.

People would say he was a 2-time division champion, He fought 6 beltholder in a row but all of that is easy to achieve these days when all this organisation are just practically giving out belts.

Jeff Lacy was a bigger hype job.

Remember when the whole of America thought he would destroy Calzaghe. I don't think a fighter has ever been as brutally exposed.

I never rate him imo, i went to 4 of his earlier fights because my brother told me he was very good and i was impress with his heart and guts but even at that time i knew he would beaten the first time he face a boxer-type style but because he was under Frank warren he was able to get him to fight stationary fighter.

He avoid anyone that move/dance in the ring because of Warren and the moment he left Warren he was expose to a different world of fighter.

every fighter is hyped in the end, but in the end not many have won multiple world titles and had a record of 45-2

i just think he is not a top 10 p4p fighter, but still very good nonetheless. no shame in his career.
