he was just a tuneup for barrera the 1st time around.

after pac-jmm1 , hbo offered $750k to both fighters for a rematch and jmm felt 50-50 was unfair because he was the champ.

pac had to take major concessions to get the morales fight.

barrera and morales were the big names. they were in charge. they were the ones that had hbo's backing. they were the ones with the top promoters.

at the time pac was under muhammad and muhammad was just shopping pac around as an opponent while he robbed pac blind. that's why pac sued him and won.

pacquiao didn't start getting promoted properly 'til after the morales fights when he signed with arum after winning his lawsuit with muhammad.

pacquiao just got lucky. he was nothing but a tuneup for barrera. morales only fought him because marquez turned down the morales fight.

like i said you weren't following boxing at the time. or else you would know why the fights happened in the order they did.
Once again you are not responding to anything I have said. I DON'T CARE why the fights didn't happen, but they SIMPLY DIDN'T HAPPEN. For this reason Pac fans can't complain why people call these fighter past their prime. You don't have too contest everything. I am just stating why there is this doubt

          i am responding.

you're not comprehending what i'm saying nor debating it because i don't think you had any idea what was going on when those fights were being made.

after suing muhammad and getting out of his contracts with him , pacquiao signed with top rank.

at the time top rank and golden boy was involved in a bitter rivalry. they weren't making fights between each other. how can they? they were suing each other!

pacquiao was with top rank. barrera and marquez was with golden boy.

the reason pacquiao was fighting morales was that he was the biggest name left.

marquez turned down hbo's offer for pac-jmm 2. marquez was not a possible option anymore.

hbo also wasn't interested in barrera-pac 2 at the time. pac just whooped barrera a year earlier. if you watch that fight and listen to the commentators talking about a possible rematch between the two , they were all in agreement that it wouldn't be any different.

you do know that barrera had a rematch clause right? it's pacquiao's fault barrera chose not to exercise it?

I don't think Morales and Barrera were shot but they wern't in their prime either if you get my drift. I'm not a Pacman fan but at this point he's more than proved he was better than Morales and Barrera ever were.

You are a ridiculous person. My post is based on fact ad does not offer opinion. Re-read them. Sometimes posts don't have to be argued against even if your favourite fighter is involved. For the third time, I a fully aware of rumours going around about those fights and ifs and buts, HOWEVER I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THEM AS YOU CAN CLEARLT SEE IN MY POSTS. I am simply saying Pacquiao did not fight these fighters at the right time, and who evers fault that is it doesn't matter. This is why there are arguments that certain fighters were ast their prime.

rankings of marquez/barrera/morales by ring magazine before pacquiao fought them:

                barrera #1 at 126
marquez #2 at 126 (behind pacquiao who was #1)
morales #2 at 130 (behind barrera who was #1)
barrera #3 at 130 (behind pacquiao and marquez who was #1 and #2)
marquez #2 at 130 (behind pacquiao who was #1)

not only where they the biggest names and biggest money at 126 and 130 when pacquiao fought them , they were also at the top of the division.

                    stfu.

you weren't following those divisions at the time when those fights happened.

                    that's why you don't know.

Those ranking were are all at the end of a great era in the featherweight division so it's not like he was beating Morales and barrera at the top of their game. To top it off the Marquez win/Draw were highly questionable but since time has proven that Marquez was the better fighter of the 3 Pacman should still get credit for taking on the best he could at the time. Plus he beat a Natural Junior Middleweight and destroyed the best 140 pounder of this generation so he already proved he deserves to be #1 PFP.
