Ricky Hatton is done as a serious contender. You can not **** with your body the way he has and not expect a sharp decline in skills. Same thing happened to Erik Morales, the biggest difference is Morales is great and can go up a division and still be competitive, Hatton will be confined to severly dehydrating himself to make 140.

Power punchers or good punchers with technique will have a field day with Hatton from now on. If he wants to stay winning in boxing, he should hope Khan wins since that's one of the only high ranking fights I could see him winning because of Khan's china chin. Even that would be a shootout now.

And Katsidis is someone Hatton would have smashed to pieces only a few years ago. It would be sad.
hatton should still be able to beat katsidis... if they are worried by katsidis' power then they can maybe get juan diaz... dude is feather fisted.

Hatton is very overrated and very boring to watch. I hope he retires soon.

If Ricky goes out now he spares his health, and can hold up his head saying he fought the best. If he takes a fair well fight, he is either risking getting hurt again or taking on a joke of an opponent, somewhat tarnishing his own image.
Eh, just call it quits, Ricky.

I think a lot of people are being too hard on Hatton. One title holder in the division that I might give Hatton a chance against is Tim Bradley due to his defensive mistakes and his lack of power. I think Hatton should get a fight with him and try to go out on a win. I would however give him almost no chance to beat guys like Victor Ortiz, Mike Alvarado, or Devon Alexander. 140 is starting to heat up but the fighters that I just mentioned need to keep fighting and let the public get familiar with them.

what makes you say this? Hatton has only lost to the 2 of the p4p #1s of our time. It's not like he was knocked out by a Club fighter.

It's not one defeat, it's two. Plus he looked bad in the Lazcano fight, which at the time I put down to his trainer, and when he looked a lot better against Malignaggi, I put that down to his new trainer. But the way he under-performed so badly against Pac has convinced me that he hasn't got it any more. Not taking anything away from Pac, it was a brilliant performance and a brilliant game plan. But Hatton didn't move his head at all, didn't jab, didn't feint, and didn't use any lateral movement. If he fought that way against Witter, Witter would toy with him for a few rounds and then knock him out.
