You didn't answer my question. Why would King want to keep an un-marketable guy who is the black cat of the boxing world to remain a champion?? Why would he not want an Eastern super-fight between Golota and Vitali?? SO he can break PPV records with Ruiz-Byrd??????

I do think Ruiz is marketable if he has a belt. Is Golota more marketable than Ruiz? I doubt it. I think Ruiz has more chance of hugging Vitali over than Golota has the chance of winning over Vitali. Having Golota fight Vitali is like handing Vitali the belt. I do not think DK wants that.
He would probably let Golota take the WBO belt though and set up a fight with Vitali.
And also, yes Ruiz clinches. But if you see his fights with Rahman and Oquendo, his opponents are doing as much if not more clinching then he is. Golota was the bigger stronger man. He got fatigued in the middle rounds and I have no doubt he was using the clinches to take breathers as much as Ruiz . . . and what do you do when someone clinches you?? Time a counter, double hook to the body, throw a friggin' uppercut?? It's not like a person is powerless if a short, slow-footed Puerto Rican named Ruiz wants to get in a clinch. What about footwork, working the jab? Ruiz is ugly and dirty but his opponents are to blame for not taking this guy outta there. The guy not named Jones to clearly beat Ruiz was a 39 yr old Holyfield in their rubber match (which was horrendously ruled a draw-now that's a bade decision if I've ever seen one). What does that say? Ruiz is not that good. Sad thing is, neither are his opponents . . . .

umm Ruiz has had a belt for a few years now (with the Jones Jr debacle aside) . . and his fights sell for ****. King has to tack on Ruiz fights to larger cards in order to sell anything. Golota on the otherhand has a huge Polish and Russian following who turn up in droves to all his fights. Look at the attendence and ratings-it is clear to see who packs the house. Hell, Golota appeared 3 years out of retirement and headlined a PPV card? Could you imagine Ruiz not fighting for 3 years, coming back and fighting on PPV???

Not sure if the Russian community is that big. Most receipts come from PPV sales and the mostly american make-up of PPViewers is a more important factor.
Ruiz needs his belt in order to get any market value. Golota has fans that will follow him no matter what he does, how many times he loses or even if he quits, just look at his fights with Tyson, Grant and Lewis. King knows this.
If Ruiz had no belt, no other heavyweights would want to fight him and King would be unable to market him as even Latino fans cant stand him. King can still get a Golota-Klitschko bout, with or without beating Ruiz. Golota told me that he never wanted to fight Ruiz, he was forced into the fight because the winner woule get the winner of Byrd-McCline.
How many times do you see a fighter not want to fight another fighter who who holds a recognized strap? The problem with Ruiz-Golota is that there were so many coin flip rounds that depending on what you like or what you were looking at, many rounds could have gone either way.
About 70% of the sites I went to had Golota up by 1-2 points or had the fight a draw. When you have a close fight like this fought at close range with the Ruiz hug and tug gameplan, many rounds will be so hard to score that judges will not know what to do. It's sad that none of those round were even rounds on any of the official cards, I had at least 2-3 rounds scored even because neither fighter did anything.
