WTF? I wouldn't stick aroudn for an interview either. Judges were obviously bought.
That's the second time Golota has been robbed.

Golota was fighting HEAVILY dirty in that fight, while the referee down played it the judges probably did not.
You might not like Ruiz's style of fighting but beating someone on the back of the head and throwing them down is a lot worse in the judges eyes then a simple clinch....
Everyone bitches everytime ruiz wins, because of his style but the fact is Golota fouled John all night...
How in the hell can a fighter punch a guy in the balls and say "aww thats just a love tap, keep it going"
No referee in their right mind should officiate like that and it was poor on the refs behalf.
I had it as a pretty close fight and fell asleep around the 10th-11th, but I still dont care who won/what happened either way....
On a side note, If it was bought it clearly looked in favor of Golota.
To say the fight was fixed was ludicrous, Don King knows Golota generates money and Ruiz does not. That is a clear observation no fix was in, because if their was Andrew would have been champ right now on 2 occasions...
Also I have no doubts after Norman Stone got the boot, the judges felt a bit of sorrow for Ruiz and gave him an extra point or two......Last edited by spinksjinx; 11-15-2004, 11:46 AM. -

Exactly. I think people are reading the round-by-round on this site and didn't see the fight. The ones who saw the fight are mixed on who won, which is appropriate given the close judges scores.Originally posted by spinksjinxGolota was fighting HEAVILY dirty in that fight, while the referee down played it the judges probably did not.

...And if the fix was in it would be FOR Golota because 2 straight losses hurts his place among the contenders. King wouldn't screw over a guy twice in a row - it hurts his own pockets.Comment

??? His pocket would be hurt more if Ruiz lostComment

Ruiz's stock doesn't fall with one loss like Golota's with 2. If Ruiz loses, he probably fights Byrd or Brewster for one of the other belts.Comment

Not true. I saw the fight. I think Golota thoroughly won.
Ruiz has made 120 fouls (illegal "huggs") during the fight, and he was "thrown" on the canvas only because of his wrestling style. I wish Golota would just wrestle Ruiz to his defeat and pulled a ruiz on Ruiz.
The rabbit punching went both ways but it was not intentional in either case, I think.Last edited by Nautilus; 11-15-2004, 12:02 PM.Comment
