      Pacquiao +4 pounds
      Cotto -3 pounds

      Mayweather -3 pounds
      Marquez +9 pounds

The guy who would need to adjust the most is Marquez! 3X that of Mayweather.

I agree, by the way Floyd was 146 fight night against Zab at 147.

I don't see either of those match ups as a "***** move". All four fighters are world class and both should be very entertaining fights. You guys think that Pac and Mayweather are these unbeatable wrecking machines, but something tells me to not short change either Cotto or Marquez in regards to possible upsets.

If anyone can beat Mayweather, it's JMM. Same for Pac vs Cotto.

We're talking about the weights during weigh-in these four men would prefer to be before fight night. Weights they won't have issues with.

That's the starting point everybody needs to deal with and agreed upon. The sticking point that needs to be threshed out before a fight can even begin. As long as they agree on this, it doesn't matter how much their opponents weigh during the actual fight.

The thread is about a ***** move and JMM Floyd at the weights is not comparible to Pac Cotto at the weights , how in the hell can you disregard what they step into the ring at fight time , thats when the fight actually happens , thats their " true size " and thats where one guy being a lot bigger than the other is a great advantage , how can it not matter ,, the weigh-in weight is like a pseudo weight to keep guys on the same playing field , it was only brought into place because fighters were fighting badly dehydrated so officials made it 30hrs to try and stop that thinking they will have more time to hydrate , but now trainers are manipulating that extra 6 hrs much more with bigger men drying out to lower weights which means when they hydrate up again they have a huge advantage ,,,,, as far as who is bigger or smaller is what they are on the night how can it be anything else , 30 hrs earlier thats just insane , you guys look and form opinions by watching the fight , yet there size matters not then but 30hrs earlier , gimme a break !!!!!!!

Sorry but I can't give you a break.

Weight during weigh-in matters so much because it will have a great effect during fight time. You know why ODLH didn't gain his desired weight during fight time? Because they drained him so much the day before.

Sure, JMM may go up to 144 during weigh-in but how much fat will be there compared to weighing in at 135 of pure muscles and just rehydrate to 147 the next day?

If Cotto can optimally rehydrate by 14 pounds, then weighing 144 translates to only 158 at fight time rather than 161 if he started at 147. He cannot over do his rehydration because he can be sluggish with too much intake of food and water within 30 hrs. It can even upset his stomach.

It's the weigh-in that levels the playing field.

If Hopkins can weigh in at 147, don't you think he will be beatable by any welterweight regardless how much he weighs in at fight time?
