Man people really rate a person from fight to fight. If his next fight is immensly excited people will call him the next Gatti.Comment

What people fail to realize is that Antonio Tarver is still a pretty good fighter. It's not easy for anyone to look good against him. Plus Tarver fought much better than he did in their first encounter. He fought with desperation because he knew if he lost it was his last fight on a big stage. Dawson still handled him with ease. So I don't see what all the uproar is about. Dawson is still the best light heavyweight in the world, and beats anyone from 168-175.
Dawson is as much overratted as LacyComment

i thought tarver brought a better game in this last fight and dawson tried to be too defensive against him in some rounds, regardless his chin has been the most questioning part of his game, wouldnt be suprised if his low work rate was a way of proving he has a good chin. i still think dawson is the best light heavyweight and think he would knockout calzaghe and outwork hopkins in a controversial split decisionComment

Hopkins has better defense and counter skills than tarver and look at how well tarver managed to stay afloat. I dont care about tarver's rep of having better perfomances in his rematches. Bottom line is that hopkins whooped him.
Hopkins had enough power to wobble tarver.
Dawson doesnt look like he can keep the pressure on anyone, and @ lhw i dont think he's got the one punch power to end fights.
Maybe dawson is the kind of fighter that can rise to the challenge, but the tarver fight did nothing to make me think he's a challenge for either hopkins or calzaghe.Comment
