I probably couldn't stop myself if I had a guy hurt, I'd want them to hit the ground so everybody can see.
If you were a fighter and had someone seriously hurt, would you pull a Judah?

This sentence puts it best.I remember reading an old Dempsey quote about the Jess Willard fight. Basically he said he mauled the **** out of Willard cause he was afraid the bigger man was going to kill him. So he made sure to do it to him first.
It probably depends on the situation. If you clearly outclass a guy then there's a higher level of consciousness/awareness and you might be inclined to not go all out. But if the other dude is giving you a fight, that mixture of fear, adrenaline, pain and all the other crazy **** will probably kick in your instincts to literally put him down.
All in all you don't play boxing like other sports. I wouldn't look to the ref for ****. Remember that moment from Gatti-Mayweather? Yea **** that noise.Comment

That reminds me of Chris Eubank. In one fight he was behind on points with seconds left in the 11th round, and landed a punch that won him the fight, but which almost killed his opponent.
He never really recovered his killer instinct, and he suffered his first loss years later when he was behind on points, scored a KD, and then backed off rather than going for the KO.
They did have a rematch, but the result was the same. A moment of hestitation can make a big difference.Comment
