If you were a fighter and had someone seriously hurt, would you pull a Judah?

But that fight was different, it was a close fight and very competitive. That outcome was sad but that could have been Ray Mancini on that canvas just aswell... Boxers put their lives on the line when ever they put those gloves on, their is only so much a ref can do.

        If it was Pacquiao.

        Actually, Pacquiao is tricky.

I'm not sure I would want to knock him out cold if I already had him down and he is still stunned bad when he got back to his feet. Such a nice guy.

However, this is the tricky part: what if he had you hurt bad?

He would probably finish the job. So do you do the same or would you be like Maximus and spare him?

It would depend on who I was hitting. If it was Joe Calzaghe I would wind up some big blows while he was out.

I remember when I read that Teddy Atlas book and he talked about how he took Tyson to that smoker fight and Tyson knocked the kid out cold and they came after him. Tyson said: I wasn't doing anything he wasn't trying to do to me.

                Something like that.

Hopefully that was the right book and story.

                My Thoughts:

Fighters touch gloves before the fight in gesture to excuse the opponent/fighter of what is about to take place just in case something bad is to happen. They both understand the consequences.

Even though he most likely wouldn't spare you?

That is a kind gesture. I was thinking the same. It puts you above him in a way. Maximus

But if he comes back for the rematch and you have him in the same position, you might have to finish it this time.

I actually got this question mixed up because at 1st I thought you were talking about the clowning part. When he dropped Spinks right before that and did that little dance. Zab makes me mad with that clowning crap but to your question, I would definatly finish his asz. Your in there to handle your business. Remember Tarver against Harding though? "What the **** you want me to do, kill the man"? Then the ref asked Harding was he ok and could he continue and Harding told him "Im from Philadelphia", basically saying that he's tough, he can take anything, and you dont ever stop a fight for me

If it was a fighter I respected then just get the ref involved but if it was Froch...
