Even though people didn't see it, in the Cotto fight, Marg was touching Cotto as soon as the 2nd round and on. That wore down Cotto or at least prevented him from sitting on his punches and staying inside to deliver body shots.

Yeah, that was something I was noticing early on as well : Tony's uppercuts. He literally could not miss them, especially on the inside and when Cotto had his back on the ropes.

Cotto's not a great mover, either. He's good at sticking and moving, and I think he does that very well. But against a pressure fighter like Margarito, his legs can't handle it. He needs to tune up his defense a bit more to compensate for that.

The whole illegal wraps thing really killed his rep as a true warrior, IMO.

We'll never know if he used them against Cotto or not... but logic leads me to believe that he didn't just up and decide to use them in arguably, the biggest fight of his career (Mosley), never having used them before.

As for his chin, Mosley didn't have a problem cracking it.

As impressed as I was with the way Margarito broke down and destroyed Cotto, I was twice as impressed with the way Shane broke down and destroyed Margarito.

The Cotto/Marg fight was a "pick 'em" for me, though Cotto was a slight favorite.

But against Mosley, Tony was a huge favorite and nobody expect Shane would win. Let alone beat the dogpiss out of him, the way he did.

Cotto cracked it for him first all Mosley had to do is hit the target and destroyed.
