The tone of Cotto/Margs was significantly different, and I think that says a lot about the nature of those two particular fights.

I won't deny Margarito showed a ton of heart and balls against Mosley. Nobody has ever questioned whether or not Antonio Margarito had heart and balls in spades.

But he ruined all of that, and he'll likely never be taken seriously by anybody other than his own fanbase (whatever's left of it) ever again.

But everybody seems to have forgiven Mosley for taking 'roids, so you never know......

I agree with you and understand why they make the odds. I was just trying to point out to you that it's never always as it seems.

I personally picked Mosley to win that fight, you can check my posts to see that. I didn't like the style match up and a veteran fighter with one last chance is a very dangerous one.

As far as Marg goes, I don't know how long or if he ever used or tried to use plaster outside of the Mosley fight but I do agree, his career is over IMO.

It will be incredibly hard for him to bounce back from this and the lay off will be his biggest enemy. He was fun to watch though, you can't deny that.

Nobody remembers Junior Jones now but yet Barrera couldn't beat him...

Mosley is no slouch, he's a great fighter and he mustered one up that night.
I've heard many people say they think that it's possible Shane juiced for that performance.

I don't believe it myself, as I have no evidence.

      But it is a possibility.

Yo that sh#t sounds good as hell. Anywayz we don't know if Marg cheated, but it sure of hell looks like it. I'm saying if he would have won against Mosley then I wouldn't be saying this.

            A lot.

And Cotto also went to the ropes like an idiot way too much, often times actually sitting on the middle rope, trying to regain lost stamina while Margarito was working him over like a cheap whore.
cotto was fighting too mf'in cute in there.

this loss, although marred with HEAVY scrutiny, will, I HOPE, end up being the best thing that ever happened to cotto.

still though, what if, cotto was off put by how 'hard' margarito was hitting and got spooked?

Some will say that the 6th round is where Margarito's bones grow in strength...like some kind of mexican wolverine....

But now we all know that it's because of his little plaster Tacos he hides in his pads.

Why wouldn't his punches be the same strength they where in round 1 in round 9? explain to me ...How does a man make his fist stronger?...Does Margarito have super bones that increase in density as a fight wears on?

It's a matter of fact that Boxers lose strength in ther punches as the fight progress.

So Capetillo just basicly owned himself....

"Hey Margarito that plaster should be ready by now...But don't get to confident this mother ***er might still bust your ass even with your new "solidPunches"

Is what the suspended trainer was basicly saying...

              You...Capetillo and Margarito all lose.

              BOOM.
What does this have to do with Marg's chin again?? You should take English classes to understand me then.

Kind of hard to go to the body when your getting hit with uppercuts all day long. Mosley outboxed Marg something terrible and AVOIDED Marg's counter shots.

Even though people didn't see it, in the Cotto fight, Marg was touching Cotto as soon as the 2nd round and on. That wore down Cotto or at least prevented him from sitting on his punches and staying inside to deliver body shots.

If we've learned anything in boxing over the years, it's never to trust the odds. (Ali/Liston, Tyson/Douglas, Oscar/Manny, Hopkins/Trinidad, Baldomir/Judah, Rahman/Lewis, etc....)

And yes, he was fun to watch. I became a big fan after the Cintron rematch, and an even bigger one after the Cotto match.

It sucks he had to piss it all away.

Hit him with those beautiful combo's Clinch...center of the ring...beautifull counters combo to the head and body...stay off the ropes...clinch...

                  Repeat.

Cotto would have closed the show in round 10

I think Cotto believed in his hype a little too much.

He was the favorite to win, he was clearly the more skilled guy in terms of raw, natural ability. And he was HBO's boy.

The way he fought Tony for a while there reminded me of the way he was fighting Gomez......

                    .....Only Margarito was no Gomez.

He didn't though because he doesn't have the movement or stamina too keep him off for 12 rounds. Stop your crying, put the loss behind you and move on. Damn you boricuas are like jilted lovers, you keep waiting outside the house at 2am waiting to see a glimps of her, let the **** go.
