If they were fighting in today's PPV age they'd do phenomenal. Point being I think any number of styles can appeal to people & sell.
To me this is why Floyd-Manny will end up so big. It is straight hero-Villian ****, the public will completely fall for that angle I almost guerentee.

To me Manny is the best hero sort in the sport and Floyd for sure is the best villian currently.

with the economy, i would love it to happen coz it will create an even more buzz for the winner of teh fight vs PAC..but i just have a feeling it will not..I guess floyd was one of the reasons y casual fans moved over to MMA..he talks and talks but does not back it up in the ring..people hate it and they're tired of him talking without him delivering..but maybe JMM would make this fight a lil more interesting for casual fans coz fans love underdogs

Most industry insiders believe that Pacquiao-De La Hoya will do in the neighborhood of 600-700,000 buys domestically.

Mark Taffet of HBO Pay-Per-View told Maxboxing, via email, "There are a lot of excellent PPV fights which generate 300,000-400,000 buys. But very few fights generate 500,000 or more buys and become true megafights. Pacquiao-Hatton has a lot of great things going for it which makes it a true PPV megafight. It's the first megafight in the post-De La Hoya era, so there is a lot attention focused on the event. Both Pacquiao and Hatton have participated in a PPV megafight already, with 2008's DLH-Pacquiao generating 1.25 million buys and 2007's Mayweather-Hatton fight generating 915,000 buys. Each of these fighters enjoys a strong connection to their fans and both are appearing in their second 24/7 series. There hasn't been a PPV megafight since December's DLH-Pacquiao, so there is a real pent-up demand with consumers."

Its the old good vs evil. Like Tyson vs Holyfield. Both fighters will bring big numbers. People would love to see the bad guy" Mayweather" get knocked out, and to see the good guy "Pac Man" win. They are both huge draws but I think Mayweather is bigger than PacMan.
