Not when Calzaghe actually fought Peter Manfredo Jr., he didn't. People seem to like to forget that Dawson wasn't even a contender for a Calzaghe fight until he beat Tarver, by which time the Calzaghe v. RJJ fight was about to happen. With the rematch, by the time a Calzaghe Dawson fight might first have feasibly happened, late 2009, Calzaghe will have been retired a year.

No cut it out, he was a contender for and mentioned as possible for Calzaghe's last fight...#1 Jones, #2 Pavlik, #3 Dawson. He was in the conversation don't pretend he wasn't now

Buncey knows damn well that they could put a few video packages together making Chad Dawson look like a beast(which he is) and that the fight would still sell out easily in England. Last time I checked, fanbase didn't equal greatness. If that were the case, Ricky Hatton would be known as the greatest fighter ever.

If he admits that Calzaghe only took the Roy Jones fight because of money, fine. But don't make it out that Roy Jones deserved the fight more than Bad Chad.

listen it's a well known fact he ducked Pavlik and Dawson. there's not if, but or any other way around it.

When Hopkins beat Pavlik, Joe and Enzo had an ****** because it took away all the heat off them, and they acted as if they beat them instead of Hopkins.

Dawson, whether or not he can sell tickets or cant, is a legit guy at 175. There's no reason for Joe to act like a Primadonna and say he doesnt deserve to fight him. that's BS.

Chad Dawson certainly had more of a right than Peter Manfredo, Jr.

He had more then a right then Manfredo, Bika, Jones( even though Roy is a bigger name he was shot), Lacy and a bunch of other ones. The fact of the matter is that they see Dawson as someone who would beat Calzaghe but his name is not big enough so they don't want to see the fight happen. Ive been saying this for 3 years, Dawson would be too much for Joe and that's why we never saw the fight. By the time Chad actually has ''a big enough name'' as they say, Joe will be too old to fight him. Calzaghe is a great fighter, but he picked his career smartly.

'Deserved'?! Is that a joke? If not, in a thread full of BS, that really takes the biscuit. Calzaghe wanted the RJJ fight, because he wanted to fight and beat Jones. Indeed the pair of them wanted ir so much they dispensed with the usual middle-men and agreed the whole thing, including a straight 50/50 split, over their cellphones.

When the RJJ fight was arranged 'Bad Chad' (and, as I've said, i am a fan) had just won his first belt in a highly debatable win over Johnson, the only name on his record at that time. Do I really have to spell out Jones' record!!

There are alot of Calzaghe fans that want Hopkins to fight Chad. It is a bit odd if you ask me........

This cr*p just gets worse. Lacy had already made four defences of his title, and had both a far higher public profile and boxing reputation than the pre-Tarver Dawson.
