All the blame cant go on Sr. but its equally his fault for teaching an old dog... new VERY complicated tricks.

Youre taught to keep your hands up the first week of being in the gym, heck even the ref tells you before the fight to protect yourself at all times, how complicated is that? Some people never cease to amaze me on boxing forums.

How do you even know Floyd sr's plan woulda worked? Manny dominated the whole fight. You mean to say that in 2 rounds we never even saw a glimpse of the so called game plan? Why did Hatton keep Floyd sr in his camp, just to crack jokes at each other? Hatton must have did at least one thing Floyd taught him to do. Sr. was well showboating on Hatton’s progression. However I forgot who mentioned it, but it was clearly stated and this particular comment was fermented in my mind. Something along:

“Hatton was picking up Sr’s defensive style and at times seemed to progress. However Hatton has the tendency to go back to old habits.”


In the end partial reason for Hattons defeat, was fighting his fight (he himself addmited), and not listening his corner (Clearly seen and heard in the first round).

It seemed to me, listening to the advice being given in the corner at the end of round 1, that the 2 had no "connection". The way Mayweather spoke to Hatton really made that seem obvious.
