    Ricky owns this one.

Knock...You're off to an iffy start.
If Floyd sr doesnt drill the gameplan on Ricky till it becomes second nature to him and use it especially under pressure. That could be called lousy training.
So it still comes down to its both their fault.
No matter what you say, the head coach plays a role in the outcome.
    Iffy start? so what.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

Mayweather Sr. is a joke, youd never know its freddie roach with the diabilitating disease when you listen to Mayweather sr. "talk". I dont think he deserves credit for the malinaggi win either. how hard did mayweaether help hatton prepare for him? He doesnt even know how to say the guys name, like it showed on 24.7 overtime. hatton will be better off without him

Floyd Sr. was giving him good advice. Don’t Jump on him, move your head, and keep your guard up. Hatton didn’t listen, and fought his fight.

How do you even know Floyd sr's plan woulda worked? Manny dominated the whole fight. You mean to say that in 2 rounds we never even saw a glimpse of the so called game plan? Why did Hatton keep Floyd sr in his camp, just to crack jokes at each other? Hatton must have did at least one thing Floyd taught him to do. Why waste money in hiring Floyd if Ricky didnt get anything out of him.

All the blame cant go on Sr. but its equally his fault for teaching an old dog... new VERY complicated tricks.

Thats not something you pick up in a day or three months even. Hell it took Floyd to move up to 140 to finally learn the Shoulder Roll effectively. Took him till 147 to master that ****.

Thank you. Thats what Ive been saying, its both their fault.
If Floyd tried to teach Ricky something Ricky is not capable of learning, teach him something else that would fit his style. Floyd sr is supposed to be the greatest of all time remember? Not this time, that time, part time, full time, but of all time.

I agree. This is the big fail. A good coach just doesn't teach technique as many seem to think, but he also transforms the mind of his student. As you said - makes it "instinct" Floyd Sr failed to do this.

Perhaps Roach could have done it....
