Hatton was exposed before fighting Mayweather. The fact Mayweather picked Hatton over Cotto or Margarito at the time was weak. But Paq's smaller then Floyd and he still took out Ricky more decisively. All in all a win over Ricky seems to be highly over-rated.

But the fact Paq not only looked better against a Floyd opponent, and the fact Paq might fight Cotto, lol a fighter Floyd was scared ****less of....Paq definitely is ****tin on Mayweather non stop. But I don't think Mayweather would have beaten Miguel a few years ago, and I don't think Paq can beat Miguel right now.

probably this last decade , with all the others guys getting old midway through the decade , probably floyd is the best technically.

just on technique , it's probably floyd. i can't think of other guys better without taking into account physical skills such as strength , handspeed , punching power , stamina , etc.

floyd really benefited coming from a boxing family. i think floyd sr. is a **** trainer but he knows boxing enough to teach his son.

Stop. Undefeated is overrated. If Brian Nielson had made it to 50-0, would he still be mentioned in the same breath as Marciano? No. Do losing early in your career and later to an all time great fighter in a particular weight class make you a lesser fighter than one who cherry picks to protect his record? No. Get real.

I actually think both are true but that post was in response to the question asked in the title. I think Pacquiao is the fighter of the decade right now.

                Hagler and Leonard?

This is gettin ridiculous. Saying Pac is the best of this era is ok, but putting him up there wit Leonard and Marvin? C'mon now...

Those guys beat HOFers in their prime in 15 round fights. Let's not get ahead of ourselves...

Nobody would be getting ahead of themselves if they read the post in its proper context. Capiche'?

pacquiao , barrera , morales , marquez of this decade is pretty damn close to hearns , duran , leonard , hagler of the 80's.

obviously duran and them are held to a higher regard and are much bigger names , but the quartet at 122-135 this decade ain't too shabby.

I agree. Pac has steadily won me over fight after fight. I am now firmly of the opinion that Manny is the best fighter of this decade and starting to push for consideration in the top 20 of all time stakes. He's a delight to watch.

Mayweather has always had the capacity to be the best but for the first time in his career he must actually chase someone else to regain the top position. This is a great situation as Floyd is a wonderful fighter but has never done more than he needed to do to be top dog. Floyd cannot continue with his prior ethos and exceed Manny Pac. This is especially true if Manny keeps on taking risks and big challenges.

Manny can now afford to lose against great odds and still be 'the best'.
Floyd can now no longer 'just win'.

Come on Floyd. Step up!!!!!! You can do it. You always could. But didn't!
