Emotional and subjective?? I thought this thread was about Ricky Hatton, not Jose Louis Castillo. I agree Castillo was way past prime when Hatton beat him.

But like it or not he was ranked as the #1 contender by the IBF when Hatton faced him.

Like it or not Louis Collazo is still ranked as a top 5 welterweight to this day by every sanctioning body.

Like it or not when Hatton vs Malignaggi was signed. they were ranked as the #1 and 2 junior welterweights in the world by Ring Magazine

If that is a paper tiger to you....then you have some serious mental issues my friend

IBF!!??? C,mon. Since when are they a real source of rankings?
Ring Magazine ranked Hatton and Malignaggi #1 and #2. Hah that's a joke!!! You know why? Oscar De La Hoya owns Ring Magazine. Hmmm. DLH is HAtton's promoter, duh. duh. He's tryin to pump up the fight prior to the fight. So am I surprised, NOOOO. Its about the $$$$$$. Unfortunately, in order to make $$$$, that will take precedence over true rankings.

Who has Malignaggi ever beaten, he's another paper tiger, with feather punches, who can cha cha cha real well in the ring. That's why his corner threw the towel against Hatton, even though Malignaggi was not hurt, he was not boxing. #2 huh. thats a joke from DLH himself, to make money.

Thats probably the main issue. Money$$$$ over true stats and real fights.

You're the joke here. This same ring magazine has Pacquiao as the #1 p4p. If they were such an unreliable source they would have Marquez placed ahead of him since DLH believe Marquez owns 2 victories over Pacquiao.

And physical deficiencies aside....Malignaggi has won and been stripped of more world championships belts at 140 than any other current belt holder at 140lbs has ever won.

You just keep owning yourself everytime i present facts and you come back with conspiracy theories and opinions.

NOONE WOULD BUY THE MAGAZINE IF THEY RANKED IT HOW HE FELT. ESPECIALLY PACMAN.

???SPEAKS VOLUMES OF MALIGNAGGI. YOU PROBABLY THINK HE'S UNDERRATED.

Personally I think he was somewhat of paper tiger like Maliginini. Look at the fighters they have fought and how they did against their opponents.

Oscar De La Hoya: vs. Mayweather, Full 12 rounds and fought him well.
DLH vs. Pacman 6 rounds, something was wrong with his performance, due to weight, but he lasted 6 rounds.

JMM: vs. Pacman 2 fights, both went 12 rounds, both fights could have gone either way. To date JMM is Pacman's toughest opponent. But JMM's level of boxing makes him one of the top fighters.

            Now let's look at Hatton.............

Hatton vs Mayweather: 10 Round TKO. Yeah it took MAyweather a while, but he did it none the less.

Hatton vs. Lazcano: terrible fight for the Hitman. One of the later rounds Lazcano, almost KO, probably TKO, if it wasn't for the recovery time given to him because of his shoe laces. He got plenty of time to recover. He was saved by that. It's on youtube if you dont believe me, look at it first, then comment.

Hatton vs Paul Maliginini: Paper Tiger vs. Paper Tiger. Maliginini is overrated enough said. Now it looks like Hatton is under the same category.

Hatton vs. Pacman: 2 rounds. KTO. *JMM went down 3 times in round 1 and rallied back, like never before. *Dehydrated DLH took a whooping at least lasted for 6 rounds.

In conclusion, the hype is completely OVER for Hatton. Not saying he's a sorry boxer, he's not just in the top boxers category. Maybe Juan Diaz and Hatton should fight?

Juan Diaz vs. Hatton would be a great fight!!!!!!!!!
Pac is a beast at 140 nobody can stand the "manila ice" punch.

round 10 of the lazcano fight was a joke. It was so obvious that he pulled that ****e to save Ricky's ass.
