represents his country how?A lot of idiot over here thinks when you defend Amir Khan its because you're asian, I dont really rate him that much but when you see a 17 year old who represent his country get **** at every opportunity then you know you have to defend him because he's get unfair flaks.
to me one of the many beauties of boxing has always been that it's mano e mano. you fight for yourself and represent yourself
and you can pick individuals to support rather than support your nation or area by defaultComment

True... that scene at the weigh-in is uncomfortable for Amir Khan..or even heart-breaking.A lot of idiot over here thinks when you defend Amir Khan its because you're asian, I dont really rate him that much but when you see a 17 year old who represent his country get **** at every opportunity then you know you have to defend him because he's get unfair flaks.Comment

I have never met him so i dont know if he's actually arrogant, We have a media culture over here that can be very annoying in the way the try to feed you with something, Have never been a fan of Amir Khan and would never be, I like a lot people knew he was a KO waiting to happen, I saw that against Willie limond and even more alarming against Gomez.well yeah it is... the media shoving him down our throats and proclaiming him to be the best thing to happen to British boxing since sliced bread is very irksome
and you are in, as far as i can tell, the minority of his fans, in being that you actually have a genuine interest in the sport as i gather by you being here and posting regularly. most khan fans i've encountered aren't so measured
and what about the fact that he got knocked the **** out by the only real lightweight he ever fought in about 3.294 seconds (who happens to be a complete unknown)? and yet is still heralded britain's greatest talent and is still headlining pay per views?
and on a personal note i don't find his character very agreeable. he seems arrogant but not in a funny, ****y way (like a Mayweather or Tarver) and he's a bit dim and uninteresting.
I just dont like the double standard involving anything to do with Khan thats all.Comment
-
you mean the double standard that he can knocked out in 30 seconds by a complete unknown and his career still be completely healthy and everyone will try to pretend it never happened?
or are you talking about a different double standard?Comment

I meant he went to the olympics to represent our country when he had offers not to go and turn pro, Hatton and calzaghe were both brilliant prospect who could have represent us at the olympics but they choose not to.Comment

The standard of how every little thing he does HAS to be picked on, How everything he does is a negative, Khan has been going through **** even before he turned pro, He was racially abuse and had to leave the arena where he was watching his brother fight in liverpool after coming back from the olympics.
The hate he gets isnt because he got KO in 52 seconds, Before he got KO everyone wanted him to get KO because according to them it "would humble" him...Comment

i would of been upset if i was khan at the weigh in. not only getting booed by english fans but the majority would of been from manchester.
its almost like the fans are putting on a show for the americans. khan does not deserve that abuse, save it for warren and his advisorsComment
