On pure boxing skill Floyd is on a different level to Roy. Sure Roy had mad skills but it was those skills combined with his freakish athletic ability that made him so great. Based purely on raw boxing skills, it is Floyd over Roy all day.

I also think Floyd had better pure skills than Leonard to be honest. Sure Sugar was a very, very skillful guy but again, I think natural athletic ability played a big role in how good he was. Moreso than is the case with Mayweather.

The buck stops with Pea IMO. Whitaker's skillset was superior to Floyd's I think.
how are you gonna say, uhh, roy jones had skills sure, but it's just his freakish athletic ability that made him so good, but he aint as good a floyd?
you cant take out a physical attribute and not say it's not part of boxing when everything you have is used in boxing, your mind and body at 100%
so according to you, being able to avoid punches and return it in rapid fire is not boxing? having fast feet is not boxing? punching and coming in from different angles is not boxing? just because your not standing in one place and shoulder rolling or some**** it's not boxing? please, watch some boxing!

In my lifetime(18 years) only Roy Jones really. Floyd's a more complete fighter but Roy would most likely beat Floyd if they were at the same weight but that's not fair to determine...

Nicely done. Anyone who's ever listened to Roy Jones commentate on a fight recognizes how astute he was.

I like Valero because he reminds me (physically) of Carlos Tevez.

              mayweather's awesome.

i love watching his speed, accuracy and penchant for defense. however, the most skills i've seen out of fighters that have left me w/ my jaw dropped would be finito lopez (legendary combos) jmm (the beatings he put on peden and manteca were something) james toney and cotto.

they unleash fury - not one punch at a time most of the time.

That's not even the question you were asked.

There are pros and cons to both guys' ledgers, and arguments for and to detract from some of both guys' most noted wins. Maybe Floyd should try and wrest a 160 paper title from a Felix Sturm...aside from that, their accomplishments are as near as damn-it to even, all things considered.

If he watched more boxing, he'd know that Zoo was better in every department...right?
