  • i have to also add that floyd has the best control of his hands that i've seen...name a fighter who has thrown an array of smooth punches, whether in combination or whatever like floyd has. when i say combination, i don't mean, flurry punches, when fighters just let their hands go and throw left right, left right, and all that other ****. i'm talking about the combo against gatti in round 6, where he threw one of the most beautiful head to body combos ever, the best i've seen in my lifetime. it was a innovative combo-and right after he slipped a big left hook by gatti, he had the body positioning right to land that combo like he did, very fluent that combo was--left hook to body--left slapping hook to face--right slapping hook to face--jab to body--right hook to face--left hook to body--right hook to body--right cross to face--left jab to chest--right hook to body. then he landed not too long after a counter right hand followed by a left hook, jab, and another leaping left hook, and landed them all with ease and poise and finesse. that is overwhelming skill to the core.

so once again i note, floyd is the truth.

And you can even include "attributes":

      Chin
      Power
      Stamina

Side note: many people disagree with my general separation of "skills" and "attributes". But I like to argue that Willie Pep are Pernell Whitaker are very skilled. But they didn't have the natural attribute of power.
Maybe the best way for me to put it is that "skills are improvable", and "power is generally not improvable".

      Muhammad Ali?
      Pernell Whitaker?
      Sugar Ray Leonard?
      Marco Antonio Barrera?
      Shane Mosley?
      Roy Jones, Jr?? (????)
      Pinklon Thomas
      Bernard Hopkins
      Manny Pacquiao?

Who are the guys you would say are "more skilled" than Floyd?

I ask this because Floyd SENIOR and Roger are very critical of other fighters, and I think they have been spoiled by being so close to Lil Floyd.

Im sick of these Mayweather orgy threads.

Listen son i gotta be of commonsense for ya.

Its easier to get away with things against lesser fighters than it is to get away with it against GREAT fighters, and Floyd Mayweather aint showcased his skills against anyone better than Corrales/Castillo. That son is a fact!!

When he steps in the ring and beats a Chavez/Nelson like Whitaker or a Hagler/Hearns/Duran like Leonard i will consider him having great skills among those guys. Lets see him get away with what he does against GREAT fighters instead of the likes of Castillo/Corrales.

The only reason you think he is greater than he is because you have not seen what weaknesses he has yet, because they have not been exposed due to his lack of competition against elite fighters. Every fighter has weaknesses.

That is the reality now STFU overrating this ****.

If you walked into a gym, and didn't know who they were, and saw Calzaghe and Judah next to each other shadow boxing and hitting the heavy bag....who would you have guessed is the better fighter?
