    It didnt.

A nice rest is 6 months off....not 22 months...which is almost 2 years without real live fighting...it will affect Floyd to some degree.
Paul only fought 4 times from the time Wright lost to Hopkins to the time Paul faced Wright.

    He got schooled by Quintana.

Then he had 2 quick, first round TKO's against Quintana in the rematch, and against Andy Kolle.

He then got an 8th round TKO over Verno Phillips.

Manny Pacquiao, Joel Casamayor, and Juan Diaz are 3 tougher opponets than Carlos Quintana, Andy Kolle, and Verno Phillips.

A win over the p4p number 2 after 22 months away is a damn good win.
How can someone who has never fought at 140 be a 140 guy? Hatton is a 140 guy. That is why I supported Hatton/Mayweather.

if mayweather beat marquez at 135 it would put him extremely high in the atg list, 140 i'm not sure because we haven't seen marquez there yet, 144 is still a good win whatever way you look at it.. the guy is p4p #2 but i don't think you can label it great.

definitely not a tune up fight but shouldnt be blown out of proportion at the same time.

          Heres a quick history lesson.

          Mayweather beat Hatton in 2007.

          Then retired.

Pac fought Casa...Diaz and Pac since then.

Pac moved up to 147 and fought Oscar then move down to fight Hatton.

After JKM ko'd Diaz he said hes moving up to 140 to chase Pac.......

He also called out Floyd who has been away for 19 months.......

They agree to a ctch weight of 144lbs or less.

          Theyre fighting July 18th.

          Thanks.

JMM Has had plenty of fights and training camps since then.
this is deceptive in that while yes JMM has had a total of three fights since Floyds retirement he has also been in 2 all out wars so whats to say those fights haven't taken their toll on a 35 year old man?

also you make it seem like Floyd's been totally away from everything when in fact he has been reported to be training as far back as mid 2008.

            2. Floyd hasnt weighed anything less then 147 in the last 4 1/2 years.
this is true and which is why I am glad it wont be at 147 because Mayweather will actually make an effort to lose some weight come weigh in time

JMM has said hes moving up to 140 like Pacman and after his destruction and KO of Diaz everyone agreed with the move to chase Hatton..Mayweather and Pac...JMM also said143/144 is perfectly fine for him...he will most likely do what Floyd does and weigh a little less then that on weigh in day anyway..(i.e. Floyd weighing 150 for a 154 pound fight)
good point I am fine with the weight as long as it wasnt at 147

            3. JMM Is the P4P Number 2 fighter in the sport who many think holds two wins over the current number 1 Pacman....So you could make a case for JMM beng P4P number 1.
but again all this work is at 135 and JMM is now going into uncharted territory much like Hatton did when he went to 147 and basically ****** at it

he is a huge unknown at that weight regardless of what he weighs post weigh in. This point should be taken into view when stating he is the #2 p4p.

This is Floyds comeback fight and hes facing a guy who is in shape..sharp...ready to go....and active and is the p4p number 2.
            and at a size disadvantage.

This is a great win for Mayweather.
this will be a good comeback win for Mayweather nothing more

If a guy who has been at WW/JMW the past 4 years and a guy who says he moving up to 140 calls him out...a catch weight weight fight is at 144 or less....which is what this fight is.

            Mayweather by KO....10 rounds.
I am cool with this but its not the great fight you think it is

            and Mayweather TKO6

And this is Floyds fault somehow?

Floyd was the one who was retired....not JMM...did you expect JMM to retir in unison with Floyd and come back together?

                  When did Pacquiao fight Casamayor?
