Because WW's come in the ring close to or over 160+, and Hatton is a heavy LWW but not a big in size LWW, even Pacquiao is bigger than Hatton in measurements apart from height and fists.

because hatton will lose the advantage of being the bigger man if he fights at welterweight. hatton fights at 152-154lb come fight night for most of his fights that i can remember. if he weighs in at 147, hes gonna be closer to 160lb come fight night, and 160lb for a 5 ft 6 is a bit much! also his opponents at welterweight are going to be taller, so they are gonna be able to put more weight on between the weigh in and the fight. and that is likely to be more than 152- 154.
