Where Hatton is bigger is weight. He has a stocky frame, and rehydrates to a higher weight on fight night than Pacquiao does.

He also has been fighting at 140 for basically his whole career, while Pac has fought once above 135. Hatton's used to fighting bigger guys, in prize fights (Pac may spar with bigger fights, but it's different in the prize ring).

                why not?

castillo use to put on 20 plus lbs. and he was a division lower.

pacquiao in his later recent fights would put on 15-16 lbs. and that was at 130.

The weigh-in is not 12 hours before the fight.

It is roughly 30 hours before the fight.

Hatton tends to put on around 9-12 pounds, but not 18.

Hatton started at 140, Pacquiao started at 106.

Using this logic Diego "Chico" Corrales could have fought Tito and Roy Jones Jr and Mike Tyson. They're all 5'11. Can someone explain to me how Tito, Roy and Tyson are "bigger" than Chico?

They're all the same height and the difference in reach is negligible between them. They should all fight each other as long as they weigh in at the same weight. It'll be an even match size wise. Right?
