Yes, there's some truth in what he says, but that doesn't mean he should have said it. Regardless of any technical deficiences Froch won that fight against a quality opponent, away from home, in a way that will be remembered by a lot of boxing fans for a very long time. You don't call people 'pathetic' when they do that.

I must admit I really would like to see Froch v. Calzaghe. We all know how it might go, Joe totally dominates but, as with Lacy, never really looks like getting the stoppage. Then it's out for the final round, and Carl needs a knockout.... could lightning strike twice? You can't tell me that wouldn't be brown-trousers time for a few in the Calzaghe camp..
Yeah right because the chances of Calzaghe having stamina problems in the last few rounds is a million to one.

Did anybody expect something else from Enzo???

The guy unloads so much BS on the fighters he doesn`t even know whom to consider the worst... Wladimir....now Froch... who is next? Mayweather Jr?

Enzo should stop slagging off Froch, and Froch should forget about Calzaghe and find his own career path.

That said, Froch was asked if he wanted to fight Kessler, and completely ignored the question and called out Calzaghe instead, and in a disrespectful way. So I guess it's not surprising that Enzo didn't feel like giving him the props he deserves for the fight.

As I posted in another thread, it's sad that for whatever reason Froch fought mostly British journeymen until he was 30 years old, and that he fought his first world class opponent (Taylor) when he was 31. If he'd stepped up and fought world class opposition a couple of years earlier than he did, he would certainly have got his shot with Calzaghe, because it would have been a huge fight for both fighters in those circumstances. But he didn't, and now he should just accept that his timing was all wrong, and put it behind him. He needs to concentrate on his own career, try make fights with the top active fighters in his own division, and forget about Calzaghe.

The truth on this, as it usually is in life, is found somewhere in between. Enzo has had one blue chip fighter in his son, and everyone else he has trained such as Maccarinelli, Rees, etc has not amounted to much. It's obvious to me that between his love for his son for his accomplishments and for the fact he has trained alongside his son for a lifetime gives him a sense of entitlement to spout off about greatness. In all fairness, Joe's greatness is Enzo's greatness by proxy, so I can't see why anyone gets pissed about his comments. This is a father simply being proud and defending his son.

As far as Carl Froch goes, his fight with Taylor was a great fight that had the ending I had previously envisioned, albeit my prediction was KO10 not KO12, but I knew Jermain had a tendency to fade. Froch seems to believe his obsession is warranted and deserved for a Calzaghe matchup, but Calzaghe doesn't want to fight anymore. As Joe himself has said Carl Froch needs to be told Calzaghe is retired and isn't coming back, much less for an opponent that he sees does nothing for his legacy. Thoughts?

Even thought I might agree with some of Enzo's points. It doesn't change the fact that that guy is a serious deutsche bag.
