As it stands, Floyd is the best of our era. Hopkins, Ray Leonard, De La Hoya said it themselves.

    HOWEVER................

If Pac beats Hatton, he'll win his 4th lineal title and will be the best of this era due to him making history. I think for Floyd to regain his spot as best of this era, he'll have to beat Pac.

Once he beats Pac, he'll be the best again. And if he adds Cotto to it then his legacy as the best fighter of this era will be set.

He only saying that to defend his own win....

If Pacquiao wins in better style than Mayweather (don't know for sure) then Mayweather has his excuse ready.

          Eras defined as a decade.

Roy Jones was voted as fighter of the last decade (1990's).

He lost to Taylor twice , and Calzaghe.

Hopkins said himself that Floyd is the best of this era. Era's are defined by 10 years.

                  Alphabet straps at 112, 122, 135

Lineal titles at 126, 130 and possibly at 140.

Love him or hate him, that right there is no joke and it most definitely makes Pac a worthy candidate for greatest of his generation.

Why would Floyd get any credit for beating fighters that have also lost before? Pacman gets credit for beating great fighters from his same weight class. for exceeding others expectattions. Nobody thought that a small Pacquiao had any chance to beat a much bigger De La Hoya. The fact that Pacman is still able to compete at a bigger weight class without losing a step is amazing. most fighters would have slow down a bit. JMM already lost a step at 135 imagine at 147. What manny did was quite impresive.
