What like middleweight to Light heavy?

I think ruling a division for a decade and holding all four belts > moving up weights as you get older and naturally bigger.

All pac's Super featherweight great wins are against featherweights, his Lightweight win is frankly Dross and his Welterweight win fcuking ****e.

as do Pacman's opponents ages and points in their careers they were at

not to mention the manner of the victory (i.e. the two highly disputed Marquez decisions)

Hopkins resume is better than Pacman's, and a win over an over-the-hill Hatton will not change that

if he beats Floyd or Cotto i will reconsider

Floyd especially, that would be a truly great scalp on the resume, like a Hagler on Leonard's or something

I'm not disagreeing that he could be concidered the best, but there are a few fighters who have achieved just as much as Pac and should be mentioned when discussing the best of the era. At the end of the day its all opinion, and not everyone is gonna agree.
But Hatton may well beat him, its a pick 'em fight.

He's gotta beat Jesus Christ first, then maybe people would give him the proper respects

              Ricky Hatton ?
Morales II and III came after getting roughed up by Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzahir Raheem. Hard for me to give Pacman full credit for those win, he lost to the best Morales he faced and the wins that came after come against a shell.

Oscar is ok, but he beat Oscar to badly so people really have queations about Oscar comming into that fight and in that fight overall.

Barrera 2 was a lame fight from every angle.

The first JMM fight made me very su****ious of Pacman for a long time, he looked so bad after round 2 that I though he would never really ammount to much, JMM earned really high marks from comming back but Pacman needed to do better and win that fight, to me he was lucky to get a draw in that fight (I have more beef with that fight then the 2nd one, but a draw was not the worst result). To Pacman's credit though he did grow a lot from this fight, to today.

Berrera 1 and JMM 2 though are great wins

lol@ 2501 trying to go hard today.
                even you dont believe this.

One reason out of a few reasons Pacquiao will never be this generation greatest greater.

He lost to a shot and old Eric Morales.

                Mayweather said it best himself:

"I take nothing away from Manny Pacquiao. He's a good fighter, but you have to remember that he's been knocked out in the first round before and three or four years ago he got outboxed by a washed up Erik Morales. That answers your question right there. Manny Pacquiao fought one of the Marquez brothers, knocked him down three times and still got a draw, so we know he got outboxed in that fight for real, and then he fought him again and won by one point. You know me I've dominated competitors, everyone that's been put in front of me for many, many years," Mayweather said.

"Manny Pacquiao just beat Oscar De La Hoya who I beat two years ago. I beat Hatton, flattened him over a year ago. When Hatton comes over to the US, between 3,000 to 10,000 fans come. When he fought Floyd Mayweather, like 50,000 fans come over. A fight never sold out like that before. De La Hoya never did numbers with anyone like that before. Floyd Mayweather must bring the numbers. That's why when anyone speaks on boxing and I've been retired for over a year, on HBO and Showtime, when they speak on boxing - my name comes up."

Nah, Hopkins and Jones are still above him IMO, unless you count Pacquiao as after their era?

Eras are largely undefinable, depends what your own perception of an era is?

                    Mayweather on Pacquiao vs. Hatton

"When Ricky Hatton and Manny Pacquiao fight, if Manny Pacquiao wins I wouldn't be surprised. I took everything out of Ricky Hatton. Early in his career he already fought all of his hard fights and in the pinnacle of his career - he met up with the best and he lost. It took everything out of him. He had hard fights with Kostya Tszyu, Mayweather, Vince Phillips. I took everything out of him. He has nothing left."
