To All The Nouveau Calzaghe Fanboys :

Naming no names, they know who they are.

    • They flocked to this forum after November 2007

    • They've been fans of Joe Calzaghe man and boy ever since he won BBC Sports Personality Of The Year

    • They spent months ****ting on Carl for daring to talk a little professional smack on their idol instead of getting behind this gritty, gutty throwback with heart to burn and an anytime/anywhere attitude

Last night was for those guys.

Carl Froch made the fight happen, took his hard-earned title to the challenger's backyard and produced a fairytale KO against a big American name in front of a primed American boxing audience.

Well wishes to an excellent Jermain Taylor, who gave Carl all kinds of hell, before bringing the best out of him, and was a model of class in what must have been a bewildering defeat.

Godbless Carl Froch, model champ., man of his word, talking on all comers in their primes and giving everything to the final bell. Deliriously happy for the man. He really deserves this.

all comers in there prime ?
    erm, jermain taylor and ?

seriously, i know calzaghes one of the most hated fighters, but jones and hopkins prices themselves out of fights with calzaghe, and many other fighters.

hopkins was notoriously bad, ever since ive heard of him he always sabotaged his own career by being two hard to deal with.

now please look back at his record and remind urself of the long line of bums he beat. of all the "genuine" middleweight elite fighters he faced.

and come on, jones avoided every hard hitting quality fighter out there.

i respect both of those fighters still, for what they achieved, the same as i respect calzaghe for what he did.

That's what he's doing, right now. This was his second title fight. The next will be another top draw opponent in their prime if Carl has anything to do with it.

You just wasted your time preaching to the converted. This thread doesn't address Joe. It addresses his sad nouveau fanboys. Sorry you couldn't comprehend.

                    Great post

Props to Froch also for not faking it with platitudes towards Slapzaghe, as people on here think he should do if he wants to build up his fanbase.

This is boxing, not football. I don't want to hear tired cliches and disingenuous praise. Forch clearly does not rate Joke's resume and wants to fight him. What is the problem with that?

Anyway, even though I wanted JT to win by the end, I'm happy for Froch.
