nah, even post-soto guzman was not a hot commodity.
guzman's greatest win was against barrios. he needed to capitalize on that win.
soto's reputation isn't even effected by the guzman lost that's show how irrelevant guzman is.
right now, its too late for guzman to get pac... he should go after valero. I know if he talked ***** to valero, valero would take the bait.
Gooz wasn't a hot commodity in terms of "Can't Miss" mainstream appeal. But it was a fight that many/most wanted to see.
I believe that if you asked a majority of boxing fans if they wanted to see Pac-guzman or pac-diaz, they would vote for Gooz. That doesn't include the fans who would ask 'that chubby Diaz kid from houston?' No, not that one.
No, cause Guzman was a no name. Why would Pac waist his time fighting Guzman? Also, I dont get why you even named this thread Did Manny Duck, Manny has never duck nor called out any fighter. If you wanna blame it on someone, blame it on Arum and his team that matches fighters.
Your forgetting that boxing has a business side. Arum would rather put Pac in against Morales who has a larger fan base and support then with Guzman who was a no name at the time.
Seriously, get your head out of your a$$ and think about it for second before you post dumb threads.

true enough, but I'd understand a guzman fight as a tune up for floyd... the diaz fight was just a set up fight to get into position to fight dlh, so I can't really fault pac for fighting diaz instead of guzman
1) Are you saying that Erik Morales was prime in the second morales fight? You seem to be forgetting about Erik bloating up like a frikkin pufferfish, losing to Raheem, and then draining down to fight Pac. Was it Pac elevating... or Erik fading badly.
I guess Erik was also prime for that third fight ("nah, I'll just sit here. Wink-wink")
2) MAB was WELL past his prime for the 2nd Pac fight. It was unnecessary bc there were SEVERAL fighters who would have given a more competitive bout.
Stop being a blind nutrider. You belittle Erik AND MAB by not acknowledging their declines.
Jeez, what college did you go to?!
and you stop being a BLIND hater and stop FAKING being a PAC FAN!!
we were talking about TOP LEVEL OPPONENT here, which Erik was for PAC-EM 1, 2 & 3, GREAT fighters PRIME a vaguer than regular boxers, I am NOT saying he is then BUT I bet while you were watching the second fight around R5 you may have thought that EM would WIN IT the same as the first fight, truth to be told Erik faded because he got HIT by PAC the most shot in one round in R6 of the second fight...
the MAB rematch would have been more competitive IF MAB elected to do so, but he was contended to JUST survive the bout ...
Guzman would outbox Pacquiao so easily it would be sick. Guzman's chin is the best in boxing, period. His style would cause all the problems in the world for Pacquiao. The clinic would be much better than the clinic the washed up Morales gave Pacquiao.

Your words doesn't count when it comes to Pacquiao, so just zip it...
