The whole thing is Floyd wants to make huge bank in a tune-up fight. But if Floyd is THE draw ya'll claim he is and being Floyd is being very reluctant to fighting at 140, why not fight at least one of the top 10 WWs (like maybe 8-10) and just put on a show. Will him not fighting a big marquee name in a tune-up fight prove he's not as big a draw as he claims to be on his own? That's kinda what it smells like to me.

It's ok for him to climb up in weight to fight an over the hill LHW but he can't fight a decent WW for a tune up to set up for a mega fight in the Fall?

Go on to Ring online and find me a credible welter he can fight other than Mosley, Cotto, Clottey. After like the 1st four, the rest are unheard of.

Mayweather called himself THE BEST welterweight in the world because he was.He was the lineal champion and rated #1 in the division...
that means he was the best welterweight in the world.
      MISSION COMPLETE!

Champions become Champions by beating the Champion in boxing.
      Thats what Floyd did.
      MISSION COMPLETE!

      in 2006
Floyd had to fight Judah and Baldomir to become linear champion of the division
      in 2007
Floyd moved up to jr. middleweight to Fight Oscar
and then He fought p4p#5 undefeated former wba ww CHAMPION Ricky Hatton in december.

      before that

      In 2007
      Margarito lost to Williams
      Mosely lost to Cotto
      and after that
      Cotto lost to Margarito

      Since that:

Margarito: Banned from Boxing and a disgrace to the sport and his country
      Cotto: fighting for vacant titles
      Mosley: duck Floyd 3 times
      Berto: best win callozo
      Clottey: best win judah

      So what is your point?

he could also fight quintana or cintron or someone for a tune up not an old washed up fat fighter whos no where near being half of what he was. This is cming from one of titos biggest fans 2.

But so what? The reality is he's not going to make Oscar / Hatton money in every fight. If he's the draw, he should be able to fight anyone from 5-10 @ WW and just make the event about "THE RETURN OF FLOYD MAYWEATHER" which in turn would set up for a Mega Fight in the Fall. Do you think that event would tank if he doesn't have a big dance partner (no pun intended)?

History's shown Fighters have come back out of retirement and tuned up against not the biggest names in the sport much less the division, but it was what it was...a tune-up. From there they'd go back into fighting top level opponents. You tellin me guys like Hearns, Leonard, Hagler didn't have tune-up fights prior to a proposed big fight?

Too many contradictions with Floyd man, and Im a fan of his. But again, I truly believe Tito vs Floyd is a pipe dream.

Trinidad wants a ring return and this fight will be perfect for a ring return.

Dont forget, this isnt Floyd dragging Tito out, Tito's come out sayin he wants another fight.

You telling me if they announced Floyd vs Cotto or Floyd vs Mosley that the Boxing world wouldn't be going nuts about it? It wouldn't sell tickets? PPV? etc

Again man, you overestimate Floyd considering he's never fought any of those guys and 2 of them have been on the radar for years. You can't be that naive dude.

                      wow....

If Floyd is going to give nobodies a chance over Great fighters like JMM and Tito...

Here is a idea why doesnt he actually fight a nobody?

so after he fights them they can now have a name...!
after all it is just a COMEBACK FIGHT

                      Mike Alvarado
                      Lenny Daws
                      Sirimongkol Singwancha
                      Randall Bailey
                      Steve Williams
                      Vyacheslav Senchenko

and after they lose..they can be like Joshua Clottey..who best wins are loses if they are somewhat competitive in the fight... then we can called them top Welterweights.

Floyd is giving the boxing fans a gift by fighting Big name opponents for tune up's...
Fighters like JMM and Felix Trinindad.

Who would have ever they fighters like JMM and Felix trinindad would be considered COMEBACK FIGHT For a flghter.

But since Floyd is so great instead of fighting nobodies for a comeback fight..
he is trying to fight Tito and JMM
