Do you understand what a mandatory is? Here the definition from my dictionary:

adjective 1. authoritatively ordered; obligatory; compulsory. example: It is mandatory that all students take two years of math.

Does that clarify it, Dave Rado?

I think the WBA is being ridiculously unfair to make him fight another mandatory so soon.

I didn't dispute that he was a mandatory. You claimed he was good, and he isn't. Your exact words were "Just because you've never heard of him doesn't mean he's no good."

The fact that he's no good is what means he's no good.

He's ranked #37 by boxrec and his résumé is atrocious.

I didn't say it's Kessler's fault that the WBA rankings suck, but they suck.

Perdermo might be good or he might not be. I'll reserve judgement until AFTER I've seen him fight.

Everybody has had a low BoxRec rating until they prove themselves.

He lost recently against Dimitri Sartison, who is no great shakes. He also lost to Mario Veit, who Calzaghe destroyed. At the least you must admit he's done absolutely nothing to justify being considered a credible mandatory.

No, Sartisan is a good fighter, time will prove me right. Veit is past it now, but he was decent a few years ago.

Just because Veit lost to a great fighter like Joe Calzaghe doesn't mean he's a bum. After all, Joe Frazier was destroyed by Foreman.

But I agree, Perdermo's not a good mandatory when there's fighters like Dirrell, Inkin, and Bika in the division.

Kessler fought Mundine in Sydney Australia.
I think people on here are picking on Kessler because he is bound for greatness...geez if he were a yank he would be like Kelly Pavlik to them!
Cant wait to see him in another big fight...gee I wonder if Hopkins or Pavlik would have fought Calzaghe in Wales in front of 50,000??? WHAT!!

Its a damn shame what is happening to Kessler at the peak of his career. He, the sport, and the fans are all losing out on a hell of a fighter. On a brighter note, its nice to see Lubos Suda getting in the ring again. It's been ages since I've talked to him. He used to be so excited about fighting and the potential progress of his career, now I think he's in it for the suplemental income.

Yes but would he have gone to Wales in 2007 when Kessler did?
Dont think so...for the first fight I mean.
