And this not only speaks to the gist of your point, it also would do volumes for the rest of this debate going forward. Do you understand that? I feel like I'm going in circles here lol.

The welterweight limit is 147 Pounds.

If you are a natural welterweight then you should not weigh at maximum more than 5 pounds over the Welterweight limit come fight night.

I constitute a welterweight a fighter who doesnt rehydrate more than 5 pounds over the welterweight limit come fight night.

because the limit should be 147 pounds.

If you are suppose to be a 147 pound fighter you should not be rehydrating to 165 pounds.

      you get my point

Regardless, fights against Mosley, Cotto, Clottey would be better wins than those against Hatton, JMM, Pacquiao purely because they are bigger. So honestly Just WW's I wouldnt mind him fighting Pacquiao at 147 not JMM, if he does fight JMM it should be a tune up at 140 and wouldn't really add anything to his legacy.

I fully expect Pacquiao to be blown out of the water at 147 against Floyd, fights against Cotto, Mosley would be greater for legacy only slightly worse moneywise and would be sterner tests.

I get your point. But you're saying you don't believe that you are a welter if you rehydrate over five pounds come fight night? Are you saying that Ike Quartey wasn't really a welter in his prime? Neither was Pernell Whitaker? Oscar De La Hoya? Felix Trinidad? Hell, Oba Carr?

            Just curious.

So what? 99% of WW's aren't really WW's is that what your saying? Edison Miranda is a Cruiserweight now too? This is ******, they put the rule in place to avoid what you're talking about. Fighters drain weight a day before a rehydrate afterwards back in the 50s etc. Fighters did the same thing then except it was more dangerous because they couldn't rehydrate for the day causing more fatalities in the ring.

Apparently not. A welter is anyone who weighs in from 141-147 and doesn't gain more than 5lbs in 24hrs. According to the unified rules of the Horus Boxing Commission (HBC).

If they weigh more than 5 pounds come Fight Night than No.
Because Historically and even as recent as the 1980's with fighters like SRL,Hearns,Hagler, etc.

You could not come over the weight division limit before fight night.
By 1 Pound let alone 5 pounds...

That way we had fair fights.Boxers have 17 weight classes to fit into. They should be compelled to fight within the one that most nearly reflects their actual trim and fit weight.

                  If fighters cant make 147...
                  they should fight at 154
If they cant make 154 they should fight at 160...

this is the whole reason we have 17 weights classes instead of the orgianl 8 classes like we used to have

so we can see the best 147 pounders fighting the best 147 pounders.. in the ww division

not the best 147 pounders fighting the best 163 pounder in the ww division

Ok Horus, aka ****head, can I ask you a question as a Floyd dicksucker?

Would you rather Floyd take on JMM rather than a proper WW in Miguel Cotto or Shane Mosley? If so WTF???
