There is a case right now in houston with Robbie Tolan, son of a Ex Major leaguer(Astros), and the City of Bellaire Cops. Bellaire is a Majority White Upper middle Class City by Houston and the cops there shot Tolan for Stealing his own Car. The COp will surely beat the case, this is texas afterall but i wonder if this was Kirklands Own fault for Being Careless or was he Being Targeted For being a Famous Black Kid in Texas. Im sure im being paranoid about this and Kirkland did something ****** but in Texas You Never Know
this is what i was thinking. if it was just a traffic stop then why search his car?

If Golden Boy cares about the money they're trying to make with Kirkland, I think they'll provide him with a top lawyer. The article doesn't have much details, but it appears the cops got "lucky" and found the gun after pulling him over on a traffic stop on a Sunday afternoon.

I know usually if you're arrested and booked on a weekend you could be stuck there all weekend long. The report stated he was still in custody on Monday afternoon, though, so that might not be a good sign.

Did anybody see that HBO Real Sports recently where they profiled NFL players who carry guns? Pro athletes become targets of criminals who see a lucrative payday by ******* a millionaire. The crazy thing is we don't know what kind of money Kirkland's even got. We see him fight on TV but he's still up and coming. He's making decent money, but nowhere near PPV scratch. We don't know his personal life and if the money he makes now is going to family or past debts. Try explaining all that to the dude who rolls up on you when you're not looking and threatens your life.

I like watching Kirkland fight and enjoy the retro Tyson thing. I'd much rather see him as a success story who turned his life around. Here's hoping this is not serious and he gets back on track.

Smfh...why did they search his car anyway? Unless he had it all in the open. Damn Kirkland...

At least it was in Texas, if it was New York his career might be over...

My dad is a police officer here in texas. And i assume the law is all the same. I just asked him about that. He said Kirkland is most likely finished and will serve some good time. Since he didnt serve his whole sentence in prison, he only served 2 1/2 years for his armed robbery charge he will probably now serve the rest of the sentence before he was granted parole.

Obviously not all the facts are out but that is how a basic case happens.

Cops dont need a warrant to search your car here. If there is probable cause they can search it. And there isnt anyone who can say a cop did not have probable cause.

Damn Kirkland better hope for a plea deal...here in New York an unregistered gun is 3 1/2 years in prison. Almost mandatory.

My brother just started doing a bid upstate for having a weapon. They gave him 3 years, smfh...

Why did Kirkland get stopped, was he speeding or something? I don't see why so many athletes feel the need to illegally carry around guns. Just get a lawful permit like everyone else. Although, Kirkland wouldn't be allowed to have one anyway due to his previous arrest, he should know better than to be driving around places where he thinks he would need one. Makes no sense.
