  • [QUOTE=IMDAZED,While I agree that Floyd went out of his way to settle for Oscar's demands, he didn't exactly move up to 154. I mean, 148 isn't that big a difference.[/QUOTE]

But that makes it even more of an accomplishment because Oscar
weighed 160 on fight night and Floyd weighed 148? Floyd body is
not that big to pack on that much weight and he still took the
challenge on Oscar's turf and came off with the win. He didn't
beef about it at all, he had the opportunity presented to him
    and just took it.

    • I don't really know why people are saying this is a tune up fight for Mayweather, Marquez is not a tuneup for anybody.

Idiot. Mayweather signed to fight Judah long before Judah fought Boldomir - the whole reason Mayweather moved up to Welterweight was in order to fight Judah, as you'd know if you had followed boxing at the time. Judah took the Boldomir fight as a tune-up for the Mayweather fight that he had already signed the contracts for, but was looking past Boldomir and lost, just like De La Hoya with the Sturm fight, which was a tune-up for the Hopkins fight. Just because you have an irrational hate for someone doesn't give you the right to rewrite history.

it was close but why wouldn't it be, especially if your in Oscar's house?
He was the bigger man with all the odds stacked in his favor, but you
can't explain and tell that to most on here because then your a Floyd
nut hugger or Cheerleader? Wow, I've been out of public school for a
long time sometimes on here I feel like Deja Vu with the name
calling. Anyways Floyd paid the cost to be the boss, so God bless him.
Real boxing fans give Floyd props for the DLH fight, very good win - they just object to the fact that he hasn't defended his lineal Welterweight title subsequently against a true Welterweight contender.

I'm sorry I didn't mean to reply to this post of yours. I meant to reply to another one. This point wasn't directed with what you said. It was meant for the guys asking why Floyd doesn't fight bigger welterweights.

I wanted to see him and Cotto get it on when Miguel was undefeated.
That was the fight that was heating up between the two rivals and
carried a great story but once Cotto lost to Margarito it was over.
Cotto had the De La Hoya fight after Margarito and then most likely
Floyd. If Cotto would have beat Margarito then De La Hoya there
would have been no denying that he would have been P4P #1. Even
Roger Mayweather said after Floyd KO'd Ricky Hatton that they were
considering Cotto if he gets passed Margarito.

                • The good thing about all this, if Floyd is returning, which I think he is but is not yet confirmed, is that he will proove you all wrong... After winning over JMM & PAC (Big $$ fights) he will dismantle all the other WW (Cotto, Mosley even Williams)....
