    Copy paste from my topic

Is Manny a bigger draw than Floyd? I will attempt to understand through sheer logic how this is possible.

    1. People say that Floyd was not the draw against either Oscar or Hatton
    2. Manny just fought Oscar and will now fight Hatton
    3. People say that Manny is a bigger draw than Hatton
    4. If Manny is a bigger draw than Hatton, who is a bigger draw than Floyd, then Manny is a bigger draw than Floyd

Now that we've established this, this means that the Pac-Oscar and Pac-Hatton fights should get more PPV buys than Floyd-Oscar and Floyd-Hatton.

Floyd-Oscar sold 2.4 million. How many did Pac-Oscar sell?

Floyd-Hatton sold 900 thousand (I think). How many do you think Pac-Hatton will sell?

Honestly right now its pretty even.

Pacquiao has a lot of his home country routing for him from the Phillipenes, plus he is a very popular fighter with many fans so loads of people would buy his fights.

The talk of Mayweather is crazy and your crazy if you don't think he is a big draw, the articles on this forum about him get more replies and views than any other fighter and he is massive in Boxing now and his popularity has grown through retirement, loads of Boxers were using his name when he was retired and it seems like loads of people want to see him come out of retirement.

That's why I say it is about even, Both are massive draws now, so I would say about the same.

        What are you talking about?

What facts are there to prove that Floyd being inactive won't affect his drawing power?

That is a totally plausible conclusion.

17 months ago, Floyd was far and away the bigger draw, there's no dis*****g that. But you don't know how fans will react to almost a 2 year layoff, that's all I'm saying.

When a fighter goes away and comes back, they only get more popular, especially in Floyd's case.

I am willing to bet Pacquiao vs Hatton does less than 500k HBO PPV buys.

At this point, Pac. Mr boat buyer would have to be in wit somebody people think could KO him to get really big #s. This **** about drawin power gets way too much play on here anyway.

                    Pre-De La Hoya Stats:

Pacquiao vs Morales III - 350,000 Buys

Mayweather vs Judah - 375,000 Buys

                    Despite judah losing to baldomir.

Like I said, PRE DLH numbers don't matter. Pacquiao got much bigger BECAUSE of that fight. Before everyone knew he was a great fighter at 135 and below and now some people believe he can challenge fighters upto 147.

And trust me, I don't know how much finance news you dumb ***s read, but December was a very bad time to hold a PPV event to try and generate huge sales.

People and businesses were choked from funds and the last thing most people would have done is pay 50 bucks for a PPV event. Considering the extent of the financial crisis especially in Oct - Dec of 2008 that event could have easily generated close to 2 million if not for the timing.

Oh and one more thing you ***ing geniuses. DLH was much less popular after the PBF loss and the subsequent poor performances, not to mention his inactivity. He was pretty much fading from Boxing before the Pacman fight was announced. DLH fought at the end of his prime while he fought Pacman just after his decline. This is regarding both his skills and PPV drawing ability.

I GUARANTEE that if PBF and DLH were to have a rematch it would be pretty piss poor numbers at this point.
