DiBella wanted $6 million guaranteed for Taylor to go to the UK for a Calzaghe fight but after the Spinks fight it never materialized because all the buzz was about Pavlik, who'd just KO'd Miranda.

And a shot RJJ got $10 million for fighting Calzaghe, so don't start playing the "did so-and-so deserve" game when purses like that are being handed out to guys who present zero challenge or entertainment value at the superfight level.

Good breakdown by Joe except i totally disagree with the idea that Jean Pascal is not a world class fighter. Pascal can beat most of the top names at 168 and if the fight between himself and Adrian Diaconnu takes place there will be a new WBC light heavyweight champion.

Granted if taylor turns up 100% he'll win. But, i really don't think he will turn up. When was the last time he was 100%? Against hopkins? He should have beat pavlik in the first fight but never.

If it takes a fighter of hopkins calibre and status to get taylor 'up' for a fight i don't see how fighting froch will get him that motivated. After all taylor said himself that he's never even heard of froch.

How do you get fully motivated about a unknown guy?? In taylors case he needs all the motivation he can find. i just don't think he'll be that focused!

This will be a really good fight but I'm amazed that Calzaghe has given Froch a chance of winning. I'm more suprised that he managed to say Froch is a good fighter, must have had his tongue in cheek.

But at the end of the day, I strongly dislike Froch, especially as for reasons to do with money this fight isn't even on in the UK so please knock him out Taylor, please.
