Yeah fine -- so it went 6 rounds. I can't remember every single detail about a spar session I've never even seen. Depending on who you talk to though, some say Pac had the upper hand, others say Antillon. I know one thing for sure -- and Roach has stated this a number of times -- Pacquiao usually goes easy on sparring partners. Who's to say he wasn't doing the same for Antillon? Again, I haven't seen the spar session. I can't post comments and offer a real opinion until I do. It's too easy to believe everything the press says, so I try not to fall for that ****, they dramatize everything, and this article is a perfect example. A headline pops up "Antillon Drops Pacquiao in Sparring!", then you read on and find out he took Antillon's punches well, carried on fighting as normal but then stumbled a few seconds later. It's entirely possible the stumble or trip or whatever it was might have been nothing to do with Antillon, but just bad balance being blown out of proportion.
BoxingScene articles are often bad for this. The headline screams one thing which grabs your attention, yet there's no mention of it in the actual article body at all.
With this Valero-Antillon session, I'm not placing too much emphasis on it considering it was 5 years ago. A fighter can change drastically in that time. Chances are Antillon has improved greatly since then.
