No, McCline came into the fight against Arreola at 271 lbs of fat. He looked horrible and has never been so obviously out of shape. McCline came to this fight to get his last paycheck.

Arreola's physical appearance didn't look good but he came to fight and took care of business. McCline didn't present a real challenge to Arreola therefore it's hard to gauge how far he will go based on this fight. I personally think Arreola's lack of conditioning and eating habits will hurt his chances of becoming a champion.

First, when is Bob Arum going to stop criticizing every major show that he doesn't have a role in promoting. It's beneath someone who's accomplished as much as he has as a promoter to constantly criticize and show that much jealousy toward any star that doesn't align itself with him. This is the main reason why I can't stand Bob Arum.

Second, does Dana White really make sure guys come in shape? I didn't know that. I coulda swore that anytime I watch UFC that most of those guys are kinda flabby even in non-Heavyweight fights. They only fight for like 2 or 3 minutes most of the time anyway though. UFC fights are like bar fights. You don't need to be in shape to be in or even win one.

naa man UFC's big on being in shape. That's ALL they/HE talks about. Actually if you watch the new season of The Ultimate Fighter (US vs. UK) you will see Dana b*tching at all the Americans for being out of shape. It's not so much that there fat its that there just not making weight and there endurance was ****.

Anyway point is, Dana is REAL big about coming in shape and ready to fight. He will straight tell you to go F**K OFF if you look like **** or don't commit to a fight.... no jokes, no BS just fighting... that's Dana White.... its either that or get the f**K out... no joke.... Its the reason I respect the man. He tells it like it is and that's it. No bull ****....

I was at the fight and enjoyed it. Although it is true a lot of American heavyweights are overweight and out of shape, in Arreola's case the extra weight didn't seem to affect his performance at all. I think he may be one of those people who just naturally carries more weight.

McCline was out of shape though, he was tired and breathing heavily after the first round.

I don't really blame McCline... he was shut out by Ruiz, beat Mollo in a last fight and then retired... at that point, he let himself go. He got in okay shape considering he had 6 weeks of prep after he retired.

Arreola doesn't let his weight affect his performance, but... he's going to get whipped into shape by a tall heavyweight I think.
