calzaghes undefeated record means **** when you compare him to a guy like oscar whos fought pretty much everyone

whitaker, trinidad, pacquiao, mayweather, ruelas, gatti, vargas, mayorga, mosley, hopkins sturm,JCC sr

thats off the top of my head, what a list of names, holy crap

he beat the oens in bold, and the ones in italics he lost to but arguably should have beaten

Calzaghe never really had a go where Oscar took on everybody from the get go , Joe was protected his whole career Oscar never was , no comparison in these two as ODH will be remembered forever in boxing JC will be forgotten very quickly outside the UK .

I think bashing ODLH for losses can be silly. He jumped weight classes and continuously fought some of the biggest names available throughout the course of his career. He could've easily sat at one weight and held belts and had a much better ration of wins:losses, but he didn't. Just because Calzaghe fans can say he's an ATG because of his 0 doesn't mean his ability was so, because who can really know with his complete lack of resume to base it on?

And please, save me your Calzaghe nuthuggery because I don't want to read it for the umpteenth time.

oscar had the better career in terms of making money etc which boxing is really about, it's a buisness after all but calzaghe beat more top fighters without losing than de la hoya.

De La Hoya fought the better fighters and actually wanted to acheive more than Joe.

In boxing, it's your oponents who define you. Calzaghe had a great career but unfortunately for him, never had that defining fight because of lack of competition at his weight class. Well, or I should say he never came over to America and fought the top fighters of that weight class in his prime.

Oscar on the other hand fought everyone available. Oscar will be much, much higher in the all time ranking when it's all said and done.

Boxing is like college football in a way, it's not so much your record but your strength of schedule.

What fucking bizzaro-world am I living in?

I'm not bothered if people want to take the opposing side in an argument... but that's your rationale? You think he beat more top fighters?

                  Are you insane?

Without question Oscar had the more successful career...Whether you like Oscar or hate him, the one thing that can't be taken from him is the fact that he fought the best guys in and around his weight class...He consistently tested his skills against the very best that the sport had to offer...Joe C. had a great career as well but Calzaghe's resume lacks the big names that are fixture on DLH's...
