what's the difference between Kelly Pavlik and Carl Froch?
Kelly Pavlik is American, and Froch is a Euro bum.
No, seriously though.
Pavlik did have a better record of competition before facing Taylor than Froch does. Froch has Pascal, as his big win. Pavlik had Zuniga, Miranda, and Zertuche.
I like Taylor to win a decision, but Froch is very lively in this. Taylor has **** stamina.
Doesn't really matter how good of a boxer Taylor is, if he can be taken out, he can be taken out, and Froch has the ability to take him out.Comment

Carl froch does not have more power then pavlik, Froch hasn't ko'd anyone of note. Couldn't even KO pascal, when pascal was hurt by other opponents who don't even have power.Comment

He was unable to knock out Jean Pascal...who else did Froch knock out at 168?
Taylor will win this fight by decision, many people bringing up the Pavlik fight are forgetting that styles make fights, Froch doesnt throw as much as Pavlik does, nor does he throws as many combinations as Pavlik, infact he throws single punches. I saw Jean Pascal hurt more in his other fights than the fight with Froch, a journeyman hurt him more. Froch couldn't even KO a past-prime Robin Reid, he made him quit.
People are also forgetting Taylor has had weight issues, and he will be much comfortable at 168, he had been weight drained in his past fights and both Steward and Taylor mentioned this before. Both Taylor and Froch have a habit of keeping their hands low, but Taylor is the more proven fighter.Comment

Lets take away the fact that, a lot of the top opponents at 168 didn't want to know when Froch came a calling.
He has offered to fight anyone at that weight class! Kessler, Bute, Balzsay and Taylor were all called out, but no one responded. Taylor declined not to face Froch and instead fought Jeff Lacy for crying out loud! Denis Inkin pulled out of a fight with Froch TWICE!Comment

The fact is, Pavlik's power is unproven at 168.Comment

What's the difference between them? Have you never watched either of them fight?
Pavlik is a high workrate, pressure fighter who always comes forward and pumps his jab non-stop, using it to set up his right hand. He's done good body work in his recent fights but struggles with movement and angles. He keeps his hands high and defends his chin pretty well. He's tall and fights tall.
Froch is an awkward fighter who sometimes applies pressure but is also happy to sit and wait for counterpunching opportunities. He often throws one shot at a time, looking for a KO. He's strong but the verdict is still out on just how strong he is at the world level. He keeps his hands low and is EASY to hit. He's got a decent jab when he remembers to use it, but it's nowhere near as proven as Pavlik's (or Taylor's). He's not as tall as Kelly and doesn't fight as tall either.
There are a LOT of differences between Froch and Pavlik.
You'd be smarter to ask how they are similar.... they are both white boxers within 8 lbs of each other with good power. THE END.Comment

So, how many posts are you going to make about Pavlik's power at 168 or him being one dimensional? Is that making you feel better about Froch's chances against Taylor?
Here's what it comes down to, Froch is fighting Taylor, not Pavlik. FACT.
Triangle theories mean NOTHING. FACT.
On this board Pavlik is one of the most underrated fighters today. FACT.
Oh, and Taylor takes this fight, easily. FACT.Comment
