Yeah no one complains about Hagler's biggest wins against smaller men, yet Duran gave him trouble and Leonard beat and at times embarrassed Hagler. I think Hagler was a top 4-5 all time middleweight, but damn at least Hopkins beats the smaller men he fights. People will find anything to ***** about when they don't like a fighter.

I'm no hagler hater, I have a great deal of his fights on dvd and I think he's an ATG, but I do feel he gets slightly overrated and I'd have Robinson and Hopkins both above him as middleweights.

That was pretty much the ruination of a lot of Mosley's career, when he moved up way too many weight divisions.
      Agreed.

I don't see why people think that a guy who is dominant in one particular division, absolutely must move up in weight once he's cleaned his division up.

Hopkins had stated for years he wanted to break the title defense record.

I don't see why he shouldn't have been allowed to do so, if that's what he wanted.

the size difference STILL wasn't as big as Nards opponents..
Tommy hearns was a 6 foot mofo and Leonard was a big welterweight.
I'll give you Duran, Duran was just crazy and would probably fight a bear if it looked at him the wrong way.

He probably would have gotten more credit moving up and beating Calzaghe, Toney, Jones, etc. at 168 (if he could have... those are some DAMN good fighters), but it's not like he should get no credit for the wins against guys coming up.

Tszyu doesn't get **** for fighting a lot of people who moved up from LW, so... I don't see much of a difference. Other than Judah, his best win was Sharmba Mitchell, who started as a LW.

I still give Mosley more respect then Hopkins because he actually had the balls to fight someone bigger.. what he did is more respectable then what Hopkins did imo.

Duran already KO'ed a horse that mf'er would probably fight the gorilla that Tyson wanted to clash with

Granted the difference in size wasn't as big as Hopkins/Winky.

But Oscar had Hopkins weigh in at 156, not the limit of 160. That's basically Junior Middleweight.

And Kelly was "a 6 foot mofo" too. Taller than Hopkins by an inch and a half.

Because he was dumb enough to pick fights he couldn't possibly win?

                  Yeah... bravo to him.

All hail Jeff Lacy if he moves up to heavyweight too so he can get consistently face****ed by guys bigger than him.

That logic is just awful in my opinion.

What do you think of Hopkins's win against Trinidad? I'm pretty sure you are going to say that he had no business at 160 or something, but I just wanted to be sure.

would you say De La Hoya was a Super Featherweight because that is the divisio he started in? NO.. at least Marvin Hagler fought dudes who moved up ONE division or TWO..
Bernard Hopkins fought DLH (who as stated earlier, started his career @ Super Featherweight) That's pretty pathetic.

He did fight someone bigger and younger. His name was Antonio Tarver.
