Clinton Mitchell was Bernards first pro fight, pretty much irrelevant as far as I'm concerned. It's like holding Salvador Sanchez's early pro loss against him, or Alexis Arguello's early losses against him. Records and losses (especially early ones) mean **** if you still achieve great things like Bernard and those guys did.
Oscar was an excellent fighter, and if he did not make some ****** mistakes in his career (giving away the Tito fight mainly) he would be viewed much more favourably. But the bottom line is Oscar lost all his career defining fights, while Hopkins didn't.Comment

Joe Calzaghe is pretty underated. You obviously don't like him, that's fine. But he's a pretty damn good fighter. Personally, I hate his awkward style and personality. But that doesn't cloud my opinion on his ability.
And again, Clinton Mitchell was Hopkins' pro debut, fresh out of prison. Do you have any idea how little experience you get by boxing in prison?
I've never denied Calzaghe was great in the division he spent the majority of his career in. I never said Hopkins is a bad fighter either, people just overhype some of his victories like they are the greatest ever.
Doesn't matter, a loss is a loss. Juan Manuel Marquez lost his debut too, but it still counts. If it were to of been DLH, I would of said the same.Comment
