    Those three fights took a lot out of them. If they decided to retire, I would completely understand. I wish them both the best. They gave some great fights to watch.

      Honestly, if the reports coming out are true, I'd rather they retire.

      To me, one of the most sublime things about boxing is the prominent part history plays in it. Boxing fans don't just live in the here and now;they adore those who came before them, and who carved their name in history.

      Which is why Marquez and Vasquez should retire, because their fights will now be immortalised forever.

        Add another one... im with you guys as well. As fans, yeah we want to be selfish, but in regards to their health, its best for them stay away then. I'll never forget their epic trilogy, my kids will one day see that.

          I certainly don't want Israel to risk even more long term injury. But a selfish side of me says if he were able to come back for one more fight, it should be to pass the torch to JuanMa.

            This is terrible news their trilogies and wars they had throughout their careers will always be remembered, if they are beginning to show signs of the toll their trilogies left on them, then maybe they should retire.
