..ISRAEL VAZQUEZ, To Never Fight Again...

I was reading an article in The Ring magazine about Vic Darchinyan. In the peice, they mentioned that Vic wants to fight Izzy, but it might not be possible.

'Unfortunately, Vazquez may never get medical clearance to fight again. He's had three detached retina eye surgeries.'

That, my friends, would suck. Not sure if this is ENTIRELY news to anyone else, just thought it was worth mentioning.

Yeah, I heard about this a month or so ago.

They say Rafael Marquez isn't so hot after that trilogy either. I've read he's having problems with dizziness in the gym.

That brutal trilogy really seemed to have taken a toll on both men.

I can't be selfish about it : I'd rather have them both retire now and enjoy the rest of their lives with their family and friends, than risk permanent injury by returning to the ring.

Nobody will ever forget what those two men gave us in those 3 fights, and I'd rather remember them as the valiant Champions they were than a shell of their former self, fighting on despite signs that say they shouldn't.

makes you wonder just how much it took out of Izzy and Rafa.

I heard that he had eye surgery, but i didn't know that this was the 3rd time tho.. This is some sad news, because i washoping he would fight again..Vic, juanma vs vazquez woulda been great..

I heard about it, and Izzy's kinda looked like he wanted no part of JML either. Oh well, I respect him but....... he needs to retire then, not fight anyone else.
