Whoever Throws The Most Punches Wins

Welcome to the sport of boxing, no longer about economy, accuracy and defense, its about whoever throws the most.

Once again last night the Judges and idiot tv commentators gives rounds to a guy for throw loads of punches regardless of whether they land.

I had williams clearly winning the fight, but not by shutout, nowhere near, early on Winky caught alot of williams shots on his gloves and was landing jabs, and hooks, early on I thought winky was landing the cleaner shots. Some of you may disagree but i had it 116-112 to williams, I just cant give rounds to guy who lands about 4/80 punches, then gets hits with clean jabs and hooks.

This is what the sport is becoming, it doesn't reward accuracy anymore, any **** can go in and throw more shots than other guy, miss them, and get a chance at the decision.

F.uck Lederman and f.uck this 'busier guy' ****, its about LANDED PUNCHES, not punches getting caught by gloves and arms.

If it's about accuracy then Jones beat Calzaghe (58% of power punches vs Calzaghe's 26% power punches landed) [[Re-search it if you don't believe me]]

Calzaghe threw more and landed that straight left that cut Jones but Jones blocked a whole lot. Still, Calzaghe won due to his workrate and Jones' "inactivity".

As far as I can recall (I haven't seen the fight again today), the percentages were something in the region of 20% for Williams and 28% for Winky - somebody correct me if that's too far off. But Williams was throwing twice as many and therefore, at least according to my math, landing substantially more.

I gave Winky one round. He didn't fight badly by any means, but Williams did more than enough extra in each round to gather them in as I saw it, anyway.

Uh, last night was not an example of that. I had it 9-3 for Williams. Not a shut out but that's the worst loss I've seen Winky. I mean, even winky admitted after the fight that he couldn't dodge his punches because they were coming from all directions. Give Williams credit, he clearly won. Sure, Winky landed some nice shots of his own, but they were to far and in between.

Yeah, that was what the commentators was discussing .. quan****** of puches or the quality of punches.. For me the quality of punches is what matters the most.. Any fool can throw punches is bunches but to hit the other one clean and perfect and not get hit yourself is ''the sweet science'' in my book

Wright did not win 4 rounds, more like two.

I dunno about that, i dont go by the punch stats because they are flawed, saw the numbers going up when williams was landing gloves punches, dont get me wrong, he clearly won, but the sport is getting ridiculous, 1st 6 rounds winky picked off alot of williams's shots then came back with clean jabs, leads, hooks.

Surprise surprise Lampley wasnt calling some of these shots, but was calling for williams's shots which didnt land.

                  HBO are just ****e.

Didn't really matter in this fight Williams was keeping his pimp hand strong all night and Winky got him his money fast.
