are u kidding bro. just because u read it or heard it doesnt mean they actually offered it or it was a serious offer. U need some seasoning on the history & tactics of boxing negotiations. Cotto would never say no to a floyd jr. fight. Team floyd might have offered cotto a fight (ive never heard or read anything) w/ a low ball offer knowing it was gonna get denied, then brag about ohh we offrered cotto so & so but they said no.

It's true that Mayweather called Cotto out then and that no one at that time thought Cotto was ready. Lots of articles on boxingscene and elsewhere saying that Cotto needed more experience before stepping up to that level. But to claim Cotto ducked him is silly, he just wasn't an elite fighter back then, he was still a prospect.

But he's got that experience now, so now that isn't an issue any more. And if Floyd wants to fight at 147 he should fight a top Welter, which means Mosley, or the Cotto-Clottey winner, or Williams.
