If he loses to Pac he can still fight Hatton in the States or the UK, the fans there already think with a different ref Ricky wins.
yeah, for sure they will put Mickey Vann as the third man in the ring. that ref will allow all ricky's grappling, clutching, headlocks and wrestling from first bell to final bell. hurray.....
Well, Floyd definately needs a tune up, make sure his in top form and top shape, would want him fighting a top fighter and losing then doubts in peoples mind he werent back at his best.
Marquez....they should fight at 140...meet half which is 140, between Marquez last fight and Floyds last fight, simple but in the boxing world nothing is.
If he wants to fight at 147, simply fight an elite fighter at 147, obviously Marquez is an elite fighter but not at 147, no one has seen him and even he has doubts over it.
So yes, if Marquez happens do it at 140. Otherwise fight a natural welterweight.
Or Floyd could fight a JrWW who shows up at 149 by fight-time. Might be a better option.
I think he means if they box(I think he will be more competitive boxing with Floyd then brawling with him) even though Marquez is my boy I just can't see him beating Floyd. :[
now that's a fair and objective assessment. you're a big fan and not nuthugger, kudos!
According to Nacho Beristain, trainer and manager of WBO/WBA lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez, a potential September meeting between Marquez and a returning Floyd Mayweather Jr. is in trouble due to weight. Mayweather's team has been negotiating with Golden Boy Promotions to make the fight, but the talks have hit a wall over the weight. Mayweather wants the fight to take place at the welterweight limit of 147, and Marquez, still at 135, is not willing to move up that high in weight. Marquez feels that anything above 140-pounds will put him at a huge disadvantage. [details]
This right here should be a slap in the face to every Mayweather nuthugger who have made the excuse for Floyd not fighting the best welters "because he isn't a natural welterweight". He obviously thinks he is. If he didn't he would move down to take on the smaller Marquez. Tsk, tsk, tsk.
Oscar, Pavlik, Wright - all big fights which he claims credit for and are integral part of his legacy-all where fighters had to move up a weight to fight him.
You do know Hopkins is 44, and you do know he was a natural MW for most of his career right?? He moved up to LH himself
