Mayweather is smart he hasn't fought since 2007 and he doesn't wanna drop 2 much in weight. Everyone saw what happened to ODH, when he fought at a weight he hadn't made in years. This will be the biggest fight in JMM's career he shouldn't be so suborn. It'll be by far the biggest payday of his career and he will have the chance 2 defeat a living legend (even though Mayweather destroys him at any weight). I think compromising at a catch weight of 143 is the best idea.

Mayweather vs. Marquez Negotiations Stalled on Weight

everyone knows that Mayweather is a bad fight for Marquez. Not too mention that there is a lot of business still to tkae care of with some big names at lightweight. Also, Nate Campbell is waiting at 140 if Marquez wanted it. Mayweather needs Marquez more than people think. Its not a tune-up fight by any means. Marquez has more fire than Mayweather could dream of, and Hatton nor Pacquiao fight like JMM so it's not like Floyd would be getting accustomed to their styles. Also, FLoyd needs a BIG name fighter like Marquez who not only draws the crowds, but entertains them too. Mayweather needs someone else to do that.

What we have here again....is a classic case of Mayweather wanting to fight any1 other than an actual welterweight...at welterweight. A craft that he's perfected for the past 3 years of his career.

Floyd should take advantage of anything he can, but not at the risk of not getting the fight done. Mayweather needs JMM. You read that right Mayweather needs JMM. Why? Because HBO told him straight up they can't pay the fee he wants to if he's going to fight a tuneup on HBO. And the only fighter he'd really get numbers against in ppv right now is Marquez.

Noone else besides Pacquiao or Hatton is in the 140-147 range that would bring Floyd the kind of money he's looking for. Timothy Bradley is definitely too high of a risk fight for nowhere near enough reward for a tuneup fight with Floyd.
