Yup. He'd quit training in the middle of a workout, or just not show up at all.

I can't see any possible benefit for Manny having that giant douche in his training camp.

Freddie hired Moorer, but turned Tyson down.

Who would you rather work with as an assistant?

he didn't come off well in the 24/7 episode. Seems to think too highly of himself.

Roach bringing him in to help train Manny is very weird to me, as a spectator.

If Freddie cannot keep up with the demand due to his illness, I would like to think there are quite a few other, more well qualified guys out there to be his assistant trainer.

You're talking about a guy who still hates George Foreman, and had to be willed by his trainer to even put up an effort for the Heavyweight Title.
It doesn't mean Moorer doesn't know his ****...especially for a South-paw. I’m not positive but why else would Freddie hire him. He had flaws, no doubt; but it wasn’t like he was a bad fighter. He was LH and HW Champion of the World.

As a Trainer, he can take a step back and tell a fighter what to do and what not to do instead of being a fighter in a fight and knowing it but letting his fighting ego get in the way and overriding it...like he did against Foreman.

For training: He was no Rocky Marciano obviously but at one time, he had to have trained hard to get as far as he did. It’s much easier to tell a fighter to do this and that instead of you actually doing it. If trainers had to go through what fighters had to go through, I wonder how many trainers would still be around.
Fighters he will train will at least see that he trained hard at one time and was LH and HW Champion of the World, even if he did have a mental war in the morning to run or get to the gym.
And at the end of the day, if he does know his boxing, and cares for the fighter, then what's the problem?

I remember him sneaking out with women and maybe wanting to quit a few times. Nothing crazy. Atlas is a head case himself though.

Moorer was a much better Light Heavyweight.

He never belonged at HW if you ask me.

Yeah it's weird he hired Moorer. Well maybe he's changed or Freddie knows something we don't. He probably knows his stuff, no doubt about that, but I wonder if him and Freddie are gonna last or if he can really reach his boxers with what he says.

Yeah I agree from reading that book I kind of got that feeling about Atlas too.

And I doubt he's chinney, it's just that he isn't a natural heavyweight, would of done well as a cruiserweight, but that division was dead during that time.
Michael Moorer would have done well as a LHW too. His LHW record is 22-0(22ko's). would have loved to see how his career as a LH would have gone had he stayed.
